Do you mean the site itself or downloading from it? The site works fine for me but if you meant downloading from it then yes, I agree with you. But then again it's pretty much always been like that. More or less like a membership based version of piratebay. Some go fast and some go slow, depending on the speed of the original uploader and the seeders who follow.

Another gem of a site is http://themixingbowl.org/
Anthing in the line of Radio 1 Essential mixes, Annie on 1, Trance, Techno, etc, etc.. Pretty much do any dance music ripped from Radio (anywhere). Nothing on comercial release mind.

The box is very good. Another is http://www.uknova.com/wsgi/index. They like, the box, are ratio nazis so beware. They don't do anything on comercial release (unlike the box) but you can get ridiculously high download speeds.

Thanks for themixingbowl mate! I'll check it out, sounds promising.  :)

Used to like uknova, but they fucked it up along the way. And in my opinion the box is way better than uknova ever were, simply because they are more lenient and allow more shows.

Its excellent mate. Check out the freeleech packs. Great way to get yourself a good ratio and some great shows/movies/music to boot. I've downloaded three seasons of Seinfeld in the last week.

No worries, glad to be of help. It is a bit slow mind, they don't have a large number of members. But, with bit of patience, there is some true quality you won't find elsewhere.

They have (I think) every essential mix going back to the early '90s along with a shitload of John Peel sessions and Breezeblock mixes. Also many live sets from other radio stations.
Enjoy!

I agree about UKNova. Not as good as the box but I try and maintain a good ratio as they sometimes have some rare stuff you can't find elsewhere. Too many options isn't a bad thing in my book!

Brilliant site for freeleech packs: loads of full TV series, music collections, movie packs etc all freeleech. Also good for 0day and brand new releases/torrents but rubbish for older stuff. Each torrent apart from the free packs has a 1000 hour life after which it's gone.

Very fast speeds though.

Excuse my ignorance but I've never been on a site that has this freeleech business, is that basically a torrent that downloading it does not affect your ratio negatively?

Yep, but more than that it gives you the chance to build up your ratio positively. The trick is to keep tabs until a freeleech first appears, with few if any seeders. Get downloading - even if you have no intention of watching it! - and let it seed for as long as you can. It won't be too long, because every other user has the same idea. But it's a good way to get started, especially on somwhere like thebox.bz.

I use BTJunkie if i ever use public trackers. Has way more torrents listed and the "search" is way better than Pirate Bay's, which is a bit rubbish.

:) I know you're not a Demonoid fan because of the lower speeds and design but really it's not comparable to Pirate bay or isohunt. Most Demonoid torrents at least have a decent number of comments about them and advice as to whether the torrent works or is worth steering clear of. The big three public trackers are just a mess. Very difficult to navigate and search on and very little info and usually no way of resuscitating a torrent that has run out of seeds.

There's one torrent on mininova I've been waiting for to become active for years, but I know it never will and I've never seen it anywhere else (just in case anyone has it it's that hilarious 1980s ninja TV series The Master, starring Lee Van Cleef :); if anyone has it drop me a PM )

Aye. Demonoid has the quality (if not speed) of a private tracker and the huge selection of an open one. Great site.

just connected to try the download, 46 seeds with a download of over 400kBps.
you must be port blocked / firewalled.

Its still a very new release. Checked on btjunkie and a few comments there confirms them as fakes.
