They are also the strictest by some margin so make sure you're prepared to keep your ratio up etc or not only you but your inviter may suffer. Also their invites, at least until recently, were as rare as hens teeth so good luck!

I's also recommend Torrentbytes. All the same new stuff as Torrentleach - give or take, and decent speeds but easier to sign up to and some superb freeleech options.

I leave downloads when they are ready to upload from demonoid, but my uploaded stuff never seems to change, even though on utorrent it tells me I uploaded for example 100mb. Why does that happen ???

P.S. Thanks for the info mate :)

I'm on Torrentleech and I have to say that it is faster than any other private tracker I've used so far, but the number of downloads you can find are far less than Demonoid. You'll find most movies and TV shows on it, most games, just when it comes to applications it tends to suffer a little there.

Oh, and for people asking for an invite to TL, they took away the Invites for power users, I'm not sure about VIP's though.

VIP Still get them every so often.

Just to check do you mean that you keep uploading your stuff but your stats on Demonoid don't change? If so don't worry about it too much; Demonoid's stats calculation is notoriously unreliable and often doesn't change for ages. They don't really punish low ratios although other users will look down on you.

Also having just come on line again it may be a while before they've got everything working properly.

Let us know if the problem persists

Also remember that that kind of laxity doesn't extend to other tracker sites. Some, like Torrent leach will punish low ratios fairly quickly so always check the FAQ of any site you use/join to see their policy.

Just downloaded an R.E.M. album and tried to burn it onto a disc, but WMP said it couldn't burn because it didn't have some burn properties or some files were corrupted, but it still plays in WMP.

Any ideas or should I delete it and download another copy?

What burning program are you using? Burn a data disc if you can; that's just like storing it on your hard drive so the disc should work if its working now.

Also if the files are still in your torrent program, do a forced recheck to see if any files were corrupted while downloading. If they are the program should re-download them.

Almost 500,000 people have been caught out by a booby-trapped media file, says security firm McAfee.

The fake file poses as a music track, short video or movie and has been widely seeded on file-sharing networks to snare victims.

McAfee said the fake media file outbreak was the largest it had seen for about three years.

Those running the fake file get bombarded with pop-up ads and risk compromising the safety of their PC.

The fake file or trojan has been widely distributed on the eDonkey and Limewire file-sharing networks.

The file has many names and is written in different languages to trick people into downloading it.

The titles make the file appear to be music tracks, pornography and full versions of popular movies.

Anyone downloading the trojan and trying to run it is asked to install a codec that will play the supposed media.

Instead of playing the media, running the file installs a bundle of adware that plagues a user with pop-ups.

Included in the bundle is an MP3 media player that will only play the tracks included with it.

McAfee said seeing such a large outbreak was rare because hi-tech criminals typically prefer to target their malicious creations to keep numbers manageable and to avoid detection.

In the last seven days McAfee said the trojan had been found on more than 500,000 of the PCs that notify the company when a malicious file is downloaded.

It added that, so far, only 10% seem to have gone as far as to install the fake codec and be plagued with pop-ups.

Other security companies have seen the trojan but not in such large numbers as McAfee.

Only those using Windows are vulnerable to the malicious program.

McAfee urged users to update their security software and to be wary when using file-sharing networks.

Serves them right for not only listening to utter shite but downloading stuff that comes with its own player. From a non reputable source. This is not a danger to anybody with an ounce of experience with acquiring music.

Thanks for your response mate. That's exactly what happened mate. It's not that much of a problem though as I download that much from demonoid cause they don't pass the 20kb/s level. Not sure why ???. I thought the upload thing might have something to do with it!

Both VLC and Media Player Classic will let you alter the voice sync while you're watching. To re-encode it permanently you need something like VirtualDub or NanDub, both available free. In these you can advance/retard the soundtrack by any number of milliseconds until it's just right, but bear in mind it's a trial and error thing. You can then re-save it with the new settings.

Bear in mind also that this works fine if the voice sync is out of alignment by the same amount all the way through. If it's more fiddly then that, and different bits are misaligned by different amounts it becomes a whole more complex issue.

Thirded. The epitome of a well-run private tracker. Extremely nerdy in its rules & regulations (a bit like RAWK, really  ;) ) but the pay-off is top-quality, well-seeded content at high speed. Highly recommended if you haven't been there yet.
