Proud ...

Can't help feeling proud about last night. Great result on the pitch, exactly what was needed under all the prevailing circumstances ... proud of Danny Murphy confounding his critics yet again - we all think we know his limitations, but he always seems to start burying a few in the net just when we need him to ... proud of Heskey, who hasn't scored for ages, battling away up front and getting knocked about ... of Vlad, only second game back, causing trouble, and Stevie G ... and of Phil Thompson for sticking by the game plan, getting their heads up and representing the club so well ... Top of the group, unbeaten ... and especially proud of the travelling reds, making it all the way out there ... officially 260, plus another 60 independents ... and proud as fuck to see so many of them on the tv coverage : brief glimpses, but I'm sure I saw Rushian, Johnny Mac, Gaby, The Major, Sappho ... and most of all Nige, belting out You'll Never Walk Alone at the end, scarf aloft ...

Couldn't agree more Bob,

An excellent result away from home, every journalist in the U.K praying we get tonked 3 or 4 nil (save 1 or 2), top of the group to put us in an excellent position and this squad has got genuine character.

You sense everyone of the players is begining to feel priveledged to play for this "Football Club" and not just turn up. The team moral at Anfield is probably the highest it has been for at least 11 year's (on the pitch)

I read this morning some twat saying it is only one game of the first stage and a lucky deflection and so it is and was, but you don't get result's in the CL with average performances and luck, if you do get a bit of luck in football you have usually created it yourself.

I take my hat off to the players and staff and the devoted who made it there last night.

Only one game?
Enjoy the victory and "Hold Your Head Up High"

Proud To Be Red.

The result yesterday showed the commitment, hunger and desire which makes me very, very proud to be a red fan. An Historic in quite an imtimidating Olympski Stadium.

I agree with all the comments mentioned on this thread and the old maxim which is often quoted " Teams or indiviuals make their own luck".

Well done LFC - the result would have bought a big smile from Le Boss. I'd imagine he would have punched his fist in the air after the final whistle!  ;D :D

Walsall FC aka the red and white Saddlers. The innovators as well as the first sports team in England/UK, to sell the Chicken Balti Pie:

With a soft spot for the redmen of Liverpool since the League Cup Semi Final 1984. RIP to the 39 in Brussels and of course the 96.

Excellent win! Kiev had to win and we still beat them, away. This is the kind of performance all the great teams are capable of. 2 wins, 2 draws now. This one kind of made up for the draw at home to Boavista. 2 more points and we are in the 2nd round.

Yup, bloody good result for sure. Good stuff from Phil and the lads. Read the result in the paper this morning as our net connection has been playing up. Put a spring in my step and a few more blocks in the wall...
