Are there any spoilers in it?

Yep, but mostly good debate about the nature of both shows and style differences, influences, dynamic etc.

I had to pass through Baltimore this weekend on business, and I feel The Wire grossly mis-represents the city.  It is actually far less-livable than it appears.

I have been to Baltimore quite a few times and I agree that it is a shit-hole, but I don't think that The Wire makes it appear very livable at all !
They laugh at me because I'm different.

Although the final two episodes of House season 4 were the best episodes of anything ever.

Finished the whole saga last night.

What are people's thoughts on the last series? The main plotline is a bit more overblown than the others but I really enjoyed it as it still had the believable characters and subplots.

I'm gutted that its finished now, might have to watch it all over again.

I will be starting season 5 tonight, I have read the description and it looks like it's foucus on a newspaper. Really enjoyed season 4 but some of the kids stories were heartbraking.

Wasn't a fan of the newspaper plot at first but I like how well it ended up tying in with the main plot. McNulty was at his best aswell, near enough every scene is a laugh out loud moment.

Nonsense!

And it could be worse, it could be Ron Pearlman.
Ok I also forgot about Terri D'Agostino, Carcetti's campaign manager. She is smoking hot. On yer bike Rhonda!

City Council President Nerese Campbell.

As I am re-watching season 2 I will raise you with Beadie Russell, the port authority officer.

Such a sweet heart she is. I like her naivity. LOL @ 'who is Omar'. Bunk and Lester's look was priceless!

Thought season 2 was great, favourite character in it had to be Frank Sobotka!

Started again (again, again, again) at the very beginning.

Its so great re-watching it and seeing how Bubbles starts off, seeing how very alike Carver and Herc are at the beginning.

The very slow and almost underplayed introduction of Omar....and poor D'Angelo.

Hands down the Greatest T.V. show ever made.
Gutted I'm going to bed so early tonight.

Wasnt Omar meant to be killed off after about 5 episodes originally?

Yes mate, definitely a slow burner, but at the mid-point of season 1 I think if the show was for you you'd already be hooked on it, I know I was anyway.

Should still stick with it til the end of the first season like, but the pace doesn't change too much.

Yeah stick with it if you can. I only started watching a couple weeks ago and finished the last season the other day. Best thing I have ever watched on a TV.

Some new material would be nice, Either a new season or maybe a spin off, A prequel showing Avon and Stringer growing up or when Bunk first met Mcnulty would be quality.

Another spot of a actor from The Wire:

Just watched The Test Dream epiosde of The Sopranos series 5 - when Tony has that mad dream. The bit where he goes to shoot his old coach, the coach is played by none other by the actor who played Horseface in season 2
