Indeed. Doesn't mean you have a 'hell of a test team'.

One on the up/on the rise, yes. A very good one, yes. We shall see anyway - India are your next test.

I disagree mate, I think we have a solid batting line up, a world class spinner and a very good group of fast bowlers. Now Collingwood has retired, England will replace him with Morgan or Bopara, both are very talented young batsmen. We have very good strength in depth now, for example in our opening Test of the summer; Finn, Bopara, Bresnan, Monty, Onions, will probably all miss out. They are all fine Test players. I'm confident that this England side will be number one in the world in the near future.

That's wildly optimistic.

No it's not? You just hope it is because you, not uncommonly, believe that India are and have always been the best side in the world and always will be forever ever ever ever!!

Just watched Swanny's Ashes diary again. What an Ashes series!

And what a diary. He should do one for every tour.

Quite. And, deathscar, the proof will be in the pudding this summer. Perhaps you could leave your criticism of England's Test side until then and concentrate on the pyjama game for now.

Ponting is set to stand down according to the Aussie telegraph.

Not sure if it's just the ODI side or not.

I take comfort in that you can only do that without looking like complete dicks because of how long you've been quite average for. We could never get away with that.

Haaaaa, that image of the sprinkler just sums it all up for me.

TOP series!  :wellin

I think, in a way, because it was played during the night, it was better than some home based victories.  Simply because people couldn't just jump on the band wagon as it took a big effort to actually watch it.

Some of the laughs in this thread, and with my mates who I watched it with were absolutely brilliant.

Cannot wait to batter India this summer. Which we will.
Our players will be knackered because of the world cup and the ipl shit(Getting the excuses in early).
What will be your preferred bowling attack?
Think Tremlett would do well against us.

Tremlett, Jimmy and Broad I should imagine, with Swann providing spin. Bres and Finn in the wings.
Looks like I chose the wrong day to feed the pigeons...
