Phew, what memories, can almost smell the dry ice!
I was more of an indie boy really, dad was in the army and with a lot of this period being spent in the Aldershot area I was lucky enough to see some amazing bands at the Buzz club (most notably Stone Roses just before they got big).
But for a while I went out with this RAMC surgeon's daughter who was obsessed with the newly emerging Acid / Rave scene and we ended up being regulars at a Sunday afternoon set in a place called Queens Reservoir near Slough. Big deal you may say, but the DJs included Andy Weatherall, Dean Thatcher & Phil Perry.
Such a bittersweet time, fell out of love with football - women & music took over
