So I am on the lookout for a better email address and it got me pondering and reading about the rather humorous subject of what an email address says about you.
Take the example of Finley Anderson - he is 37 years old and his first internet connection was dial up aol. He remembers the good old days of dot matrix printers and Commodore Amigas, but is still completely cool as fuck and tech savvy today. But he's hampered by his email address. He uses the following:
finleyanderson@hotmail.com for commercial email, shopping orders, etc ... screw you Microsoft. This was my first email address that I got when I was 15 years old. You ain't forcing me over to outlook.com or live.com
finleyanderson@yahoo.co.uk ... This is for my personal communication. Only my inner circle contact me on this
finleyjanderson5@gmail.com ... I hate using this email and rarely give it out. I was thinking back in 2003 that this gmail thing was just a phase and that I should steadfastly stick to my hotmail and yahoo accounts as my main 2. So much easier to remember than this. But now I am starting to realise gmail is ubiquitous
finleyanderson@aol.com - People always take the piss out of me when i use this for some reason
finleyanderson@me.com and finleyanderson@icloud.com - I love my iphone and this came bundled. But something stops me using these emails. When I use me.com I feel like a nob for some reason
I no longer use my btinternet, boston.edu and geocities.com email addresses
