How can you forget the best remake of one of the best games ever, which was an exclusive at the time?  Pfff! Heathen!

Yep. The REmake.

I didn't include it because it was a remake and as such not originally on the Gamecube. Can easily see the flip of the argument though as it did almost feel like a new game.

FWIW I'd give it 10/10 too.

I would suggest there were four genuine 10/10 games on the Gamecube.

Metroid Prime
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Mario Kart Double Dash

I'm sure some would argue Smash Bros was also a 10 but it just didn't ring my bell.

There were some other titles too but they were either cross platform (Resi Evil 4) or designed for another console (Twilight Princess).

I put on Sunshine recently and man I hated it. When I was a teenager I thought it was ok but now I really hate that water spraying you constantly have to do.

Double Dash was ok but the AI was extremely cheap.

I was meh on Sunshine (not as good as 64 or Galaxy) but I recently watched some 'history of SMS speed running' videos on it and there were some incredible shortcuts being found, very entertaining to watch.

For me it was always...

A Link to the Past -> Wind Waker -> Everything else

But then I never owned a 64 and only ever played OOT and MM in bursts at other people's houses and then later on emulators. Think I was robbed of a lot of quality gaming when I found drugs, alcohol and sex....I don't intend to make those mistakes again

Witcher 3, Breath of the Wild or Uncharted 4 for recent purchases. Ocarina of Time and Tekken 3 (for it's genre) of the older stuff. It's hard to really get a 10/10 game though, there's always going to be something not perfect.

Yeah the gameplay on Sunshine was as flawless as any other Mario single player title. The concept, which was essentially community service, got very tiresome though.

Amiga - Sensi Soccer
PS1 - Resident Evil, Tomb Raider
PS2 - PES 3, GTA III
PS4 - The Last of Us

They are the games I compare every other game to. Easily my favourites on each system I’ve owned. Just playing TLOU again in glorious 4K 1800p and it’s as good this time as when I first played it about 2 years ago.

GTA 3 - Never been so stunned playing a game for the first time.
 
Socom 2 - First game that fully utilised the network adaptor in the PlayStation 2, making online console gaming a legitimate experience. 8v8, perfects maps, closed European servers (no whining American kids, which has blighted online gaming since) that enhanced clan matches and community. Even with the frame rate drops on one certain map, it was a wild ride.

Socom 2 - First game that fully utilised the network adaptor in the PlayStation 2, making online console gaming a legitimate experience.

I'd been gaming with people all over the world for a couple of years before that came out, playing Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast....another game fwiw I'd 100% give 10/10

I'm genuinely envious of anyone into gaming that has not yet had the immense pleasure of playing TW3 for the first time.

I still think about how stuck I got on the first phoenix and the fact that I almost dropped the game completely as I wasn't used to the mechanics.

So glad I stuck with it, the rewards were immense!

I've played about an hours worth so far but I've always picked up other games and played through them. I'm now leaving it until I get the Xbox One X so I can experience in 4K

Zelda 10/10 and Mario 10/10 Within a year. Incredible first year for Switch
