Will this shut up all the fuckwits complaining about us not signing anybody despite the season being miles away? Doubt it.

Anyway, glad we finally got him. Look forward to seeing us score some free kicks, it's become a pretty rare occurrence recently.

I'll put your concerns forward to Kenny while the rest of us celebrate... In an age where athletes are so often favoured over stylish footballers, he is a pleasure to watch. Quick brain with the feet to match, he would be a weapon for any team. The way he strikes the ball, be it when passing, crossing or shooting is an asset that few possess. He is a top player that I am looking forward to seeing in Liverpool colours.  :wave

No need to forward anything to Kenny. As someone capable of independent thought, I'm sure Kenny would understand that while Hazell from RAWK has an opinion, it wouldn't affect his own thinking.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

Let's just hope we are all laughing at the end of the season. I am a little nervous the way we are stockpiling Central Midfielders(and possibly shipping out our best performer of last season).

I am not a hypocrite so I will not suddenly be declaring my affection and undying love for Adam but hell , welcome to Liverpool anyway.

We're selling Lucas? Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkkkk

I actually think in one sense aquilani and raul are kenny players. Ie good movement, make runs forward, quick incisive passing etc. But on the other hand both players cannot complete 90 mins with way kenny plays high tempo pressing.

Neither can Adam unless he improves his fitness, I will be dissappointed if they both leave to say the least.

Another CM we simply did not need. It's a testament to Dalglish's effect and popularity that the 2 transfers this window have been largely palatable to the fans. Had Hodgson signed them we'd be livid.

On a serious note, I can't find a video of it, but his two passes - first to DJ Campbell and second to Vaughan (that eventually led to their penalty) at Anfield were exquisite. More of the same Charlie boy.

Both on the MilanKakaBaros compilation he posted earlier in this thread mate.

Finally. :)

If they really get two players of us, I'd guess at a defender and a midfielder, which is what they need - defenders especially.

If we manage to either give them Konchesky or Poulsen, the deal would be even better.

Konchesky and Poulsen going would be fucking utopia. I'll be dancing like Troll Dad for the next week.

We trust Dalglish. We don't trust Hodgson. Simple as that. That's why he isn't questioned as much.

I don't think it's just that. The way Dalglish turned us around and made us improve means people will give him leeway.

Objectively, though, when you already have CMs consisting of Gerrard, Lucas, Aquilani, Meireles with Spearing and Shelvey as backup purchasing Henderson and Adam for a combined fee of 23m pounds + player(s) seems pretty wasteful.

Dalglish must think they'll have a significant impact because going through all that for bench warmers appears a bit daft.

How don't we need him? We lacked his creativity from corners and free kicks all last season. He will get you 5-6 goals a season direct from free kicks, large number of assists from corners + free kicks (especially with Carroll playing), an experienced professional who will give you 110% every week.

I think it's a fantastic signing. Maybe your in the 'get by with 3 good midfielders' camp. You need squad depth in all positions over a season. Look at United they have 5-6 centre mids last season and allbeit they're not world class but Fergie always had a few 'fresh' players to call on.

Hopefully Lucas gets less playing time now. He did well last year, but he was simply the best of a very bad bunch most of the time.

He still goes missing on more than the odd occasion and still gives away stupid fouls.

Plus he slows the play down considerably.

Times they are a changing  8)

Lucas is pivotal to the team and a big reason we won important games, he shines in the big games. Try having a midfield of Adam and Stevie V Chelsea or United, we won't win.

Meireles was bloody brilliant in the AMC role. I can't imagine Aqua being that good, especially not on a regular basis.

Wouldn't go that far, he went missing in a lot of games last season. Granted it was his first season so it's forgiveable but lets not make out he was better than he was. I think Aquilani would fit into our new way of playing very nice, his short passing game & movement was always the most impressive part of his game imo

Again, where has this total bullshit idea that Adam can't last 90 minutes come from?

Out of the 35 league games he played in last season, he played less than 90 minutes in 4 of them. 2 of those 4 he played all but the last 5 minutes.

Oh and by the way, Dirk played less minutes than him last season in the league, and Dirk is a machine.

Stop making stuff up.

Ha ha come off it. Henderson can play wide right, Gerrard is 31 and often injured, Poulsen shite and soon hopefully to be on his way, then we have Lucas as our main DM, Spearing in reserve, Raul who could be off and Aquilani whose future remains in doubt.

People looking for any reason to moan. But the bad times are behind us.

I think you're taking the piss but I am not sure. Gerrard was injured last year but if we're building a team expecting him not to play much of a role then we need far better players than Adam and Henderson. And who mentioned Poulsen? Gerrard, Lucas, Aquilani, Meireles with Spearing and Shelvey as back up. Just how many CMs does a team need?

I hate it when people say "if Roy had signed him we'd be pissed off". The difference between Roy and Kenny is that Roy could do fuck all with our players and drained any talent our players had from them. Kenny can take Adam and make him an integral part of the team so it's a stupid comparison to make.

Suarez and Gerrard on free kick duty for ones that suit right footers, Adam and Aurelio for ones that favour left footers. Quality.
