Pretty strong looking wildcards for the US. But that was always going to be the case! Looking forward to this.

Yep, Burns is the surprise one for me but only because of others left out

Some big names, Keegan Bradley, Lucas Glover and Cameron Young to name 3

Pretty poor captaincy by Zack Johnson not to pick Patrick Reed.  Doesn't he know every visiting US team must include one player that the home fans can boo lustily throughout?  OK, it's usually Reed himself, but still, there's a severe lack of punchable faces in that team.

I do think Cameron Young is unlucky to lose out, but Sam Burns did dispatch him comprehensively in the WGC Matchplay championship final this year.  Justin Thomas has zero form, but he gets the Ian Poulter place for past Ryder Cup record despite plummeting ranking.

Thomas in poor form alright, but a few players down the years were able to turn it around when it came to Ryder cup, not just Poulter, the likes of Faldo and Garcia spring to mind

Saw that last night. Amazing touching moment when you see Seves place in the locker room. Also watched the Captains dinner interview with Monty, McGinley and Bjorn. Great insight into the Ryder Cup and how each ex Captain went about his role. The Spanish boys were in tears when Seve called the team to give them inspiration while he was gravely ill. The man still inspires the team today

Could see how much it meant to Olazabal in 2012, I am sure had Seve been well enough he would have had him as a vice captain

I think at times Olly was overwhelmed at that Ryder cup but the players have said when he looked at you, you just wanted to do it for him more than anything

You didnt want to let him down

2008, was driving from Belfast to Meath, last day of the cup, drove the whole way with no radio as I didnt want any spoilers before watching highlights, drove two hours.

come home, sit down to watch, flick on tv, last thing on before I left was sky news (free whereas sky sports wasnt), first thing on screen

Brilliant matchups there. Quite pleased to see Spieth and Thomas sitting the morning out from a European perspective. I reckon 2 and a half 1 and a half to Europe, tie in the first match, hovland and aberg win, Fowler and morikawa win, McIlroy and Fleetwood win

yeah agreed mate, just think it's almost a cliche 'form going out the window' thing where you could imagine JT and Spieth turning it on for the big occasion. You are right though, it does make more sense in the fourballs.
