So basically an outside chance he makes Spurs (Probably not) and back against Villa.

Glad it isn't season ending but gutted he's out again.

2 weeks might as well be the season. Just call it quits for this year, allow him to get ready for the Euros and hopefully be fresh for pre-season in July.

So he can get injured in September ...Rinse and repeat

Such a shame he is injured again but it is getting unsustainable now. By far best finisher in the first team squad.

He took a bad tackle on Sunday perhaps he'd have better coming off, unless it was a training accident.

FFS - All teams get injuries - I get it, I get it, I get it.

But there's no doubt in my mind if our injuries this season were just on a par with those of Arsenal and City we'd have pissed this league.

It’s really the one knock on him, he’s just an injury-prone player.

This is why it's important to get another forward - since he will miss alot of time each year.

Only played 5700 minutes in PL over 4 seasons.

For comparison Salah played over 12,000 PL mins in his 1st 4 seasons. Luis Dias has played 4200 minutes in 2.5 seasons and missed most of 1 season with injury.

Jota’s continued lack of availability is becoming a real issue. Need to get away from having multiple players like Jota, Konate and Thiago who are only available about 50% of the time and need their minutes managing continuously
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Maybe got rushed back a bit soon when earlier in the season he might have been given a few more weeks but if he was then the form we have been in then I guess it was it was a risk worth taking.
Just a shame as the one game I didn't want him to miss was Wednesday as those fuckers will sit deep and that's when you need a poacher in the side. Plus he's got a nasty side to him and you need a bit of that in the derby especially against that grock Tarkowski

It will he interesting to see if our resolve is tested in him over the summer. I just don't think he'll ever give us enough minutes. Couldn't even get until the end of the season for fucks sake.

He’s currently 27 (28 in December).

His contract runs until 2027.

I think next summer (2025) might be the crunch point. He’ll be 28 and have 2 years left on his contract. Potentially be looking for a new deal at that point. We’ll have a decision to make since he’ll still have good resale value.

Luis Diaz is in a similar situation being 27 and contract until 2027. However he’s on his 1st Liverpool contract and not his 2nd like Jota. I expect that means he’s due (or wants) a pay rise based on his performances. Liverpool need to think if he’s worth a new 4 year deal on improved terms.

Diaz and Jota decisions could be linked given they play similar positions.

Konate might be in similar boat to Jota. Bit younger at 24 (nearly 25) but injury prone and contract expires in 2026. Big decision on whether we extend Konate through his peak years coming this summer.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

He's made of Glass.

Was he this injury prone at Wolves?

Not sure but I think it is something to do with our training methods, surely?

I’m only being half serious but one of his signature moves is running straight into defenders and somehow coming out with the ball. It can’t help though.

Was he this injury prone at Wolves?

I don’t think so.

Played in 67 PL games over 2 seasons at Wolves (76 max).

Played in 97 out of 147 at Liverpool.

May have been fit and not used is some of those games at Liverpool. Suspect it wouldn’t be many.

So available for 88% of PL games at Wolves and about 65% at Liverpool.

I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Not sure but I think it is something to do with our training methods, surely?

Never known so many players to get injured at one club.

Why training?

Our playing style requires the players to put in lots of physical effort. I suspect lots of sprints as part of the counter press.

The counter press needs forwards to be physical in challenges also.

Compared to some other teams we ask our forward players to do a lot more defensively. That potentially increases the chances of injury and/or magnifies the injury susceptibility of some players.

Most of our injuries seem to come from games rather than something that happens in training.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.
