Really sad to hear that. When he spoke about Hillsborough , he just got it, he was one of us. A figure of ridicule at times but you never doubted his integrity. Did it for the love of his club not money, he’ll be missed, fuck the Arteta money Bill you rest in Peace lad!

Very sad news .....a great Liverpool character.....it was tragic to see the way the ownership issues played out between him and sections of the Everton fanbase - and him being exiled from Goodison must've broke his heart - a good, kind man who didn't deserve that.....RIP Bill

RIP Bill, as much a we like to joke, there was no doubting how much he loved Everton and had a genuine connection to them.
I'd not seen that clip where he spoke at the Hillsborough memorial and it just backs up that he was a true gent and genuine nice fella'.
Never seen him playing I think. But looks like a good player.

A Scouser who loved his club with his whole heart. Deserved a better fan base, especially in the last few years. The Bradley Lowery story tells you everything about his class and humanity. One of the last true gents.
Oh, these sour times.

No one admires resilience when you were just plain wrong all along - that's just twattishness.

R.I.P. Bill
The man wore his heart on his blue sleeve
If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

Whatever you my think of him his heart was in the right place for the club he loved.

Can't argue with that. Did a lot in relation to the Hillsborough campaign as plenty of others have pointed out.

As a kid growing up in the 60’s, Liverpool’s music and arts scene was world leading. The poets, the actors and the musicians were something we kids were so aware of. It blended across into the footie. We were dead proud when a Scouse comedian or group played thr Palladiummor was on the tele. Bill Kenwright was a part of that. Corrie was a Manc program but he was the Scouser on the cast. People forget how important that time was for the city.
He loved Everton and was so proud of the club. He was also a decent man. Hillsborough? He got it. He was one of us.
My condolences to his family and friends.

A man who wore his heart on his sleeve and his love for Everton and the City as well.
A real shame that he spent his last few months and years being hated by some his fellow blues and being unable to attend Goodison for 8 months or so because of some of the escalation by people who profess to be adults.
They may see what they are missing now

Didn't deserve a lot of the vitriol that came his way.

He was like their equivalent of David Moores, meant well but out of his depth and his time. He should have stepped back completely when Moshiri/Uzzy bought the club, but can understand why he didn't. Loved the club too much.

Always came across as thoroughly decent guy who did his best to make the best decision.

He had more decency in his little finger than a lot of those bitter idiots who follow the club have in their whole body. He deserved a lot more respect than he got off those entitled pricks.

Lovely story just come out of him helping Laura Nuttall the poor young lass who died from a brain tumour earlier this year.  Bill quietly donated £50K to help her get treatment in Germany.

Suspect that there is a lot more that we may never know about.

He’d been ill for some time. He’d had an operation to remove a tumour from his liver and had spent some weeks in intensive care.  Seems he also had tumours in his brain.
