I`ll be making my way up, should be in to london for about 6pm,

Anywhere to go afterwards for more drinks? what time does the pub shut?

Just looked up directions:

how to find it:

It's a bit fiddly this one - leave Camden Tube and cross over to the World's End pub, turn left and then right on to Greenland Road, walk to the end and Cross Camden Street, turn right and then left into Georgiana Street. Walk to the end (crossing Royal College Street) - you should see the pub in front of you, by the humpbacked bridge over the canal.

Just realised I've been out near this pub before, basically Camden Lock and think there is an Irish Bar nearbye called Quins which stays open till about 1 or 2am.

I do not recommend anybody to follow this route as there are roadworks in Bayham Street which will prevent you crossing into Greenland Road (also that street has developed a bit of a reputation lately).

I have posted a route earlier on page 3 ( http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php/topic,71484.msg1144363.html#msg1144363 ) but if you don't know the area I would recommend keeping to the main Camden Road until you reach St Pancras Way. There is also a short cut going down Lyme St (just past Sainsbury's/Camden St in Camden Rd) which leads to Georgiana St or following the Canal from Camden Lock but, again, it's not worth getting lost.

Yes, Quinn's isn't too far away (about 5-10 mins walk) but the Constitution is about 10% cheaper...

In light of todays terrorist attack, is it worth considering postponing this event.

Public transport could still be a mess and I am sure many will also know directly or indirectly people affected by todays events.

45 people and climbing have been killed and several 100s injured.

Agree with Kirsty, I'll be there and using the tube too. No way can u let these shits affect the way you want to live your life. Although it will not be what we wanted it should still go ahead, maybe it can be used to raise some money for what has happened today.

Is there a pub or something that you guys all get together at to watch games?

I'm asking this because I'll most likely be in London for the UEFA Supercup game, and I wanted to know if there's anywhere Reds get together to watch it.

Whereas I'll be in Monaco! ;D

Do a search for the "Extra Time Bar" in Barbican - tends to be one of the more popular bars. A lot depends on where you are in London...

Me and a mate will be there - it might be trite to say given families and their friends will be grieving but life goes on. It's already been said but you cannot let this stop us going about our lives as we choose not as they would dictate. Collection on the night, spare a thought for those who have lost their lives and their loved ones and then move on ( not forget but move on).

I am undecided at this point.  Not in any way that I am scared or think any more will happen, but equally I have no burning wish to show some sort of defiance to any nameless group, who will clearly have no idea. I have lived in London for enough years to have shown my own disgust for those who have attempted to bomb us out before.

I will have  to walk miles and miles to get to work tomorrow, have had a difficult day today ( in relative terms to those who were injured) and whether I feel like the same again on Saturday is something I will make my mind up about.  I have also spent the evening consoling my eight year old, who was unforgivably and irresponsibly frightened by a poorly thought through announcement at his school today, giving too much detail of where bombs were placed.

He has not wanted to let me go all night and I have had difficulty getting him to settle.  If he is unsettled on Saturday, there is no way I am waving goodbye to him to go on a train to London, after what he was told.  I am fuming at the stupidity of the so called experienced educators in this country.

Never give up

Just spoken to the Landlady - she was a bit doubtful about doing this at first - didn't think it was appropriate - but having told her the views this afternoon on the site we have agreed that we are not cancelling this altogether.

I will be there and, if nothing else, it's a nice place to have a Summer's evening drink. It will be low-key to start with but we will be prepared to put the tapes/DVDs on if we have enough of a turnout.

Tetti - your kid is infinitely more important than this party. Give him a hug from all of us and tell him that for every one person who wants to kill there are thousands who want to save lives - like at Live 8.

We'll see you another time... :wave

Yep, more low key than it was going to be, but we have to show 'these people' that we will now bow to them.

Fuck them, if it takes me ages to get to and from my hotel i frankly don't care.
