It’s basic combinatorics.

and make it 3 wins from 3 after 1983 and 2003.

After the 7-0 trashing, I think that it will be appropriate for us to humiliate them at Wembley, and I don't want them in the FA Cup final, since I have a feeling that we will be busy come the end of the season ...

Nope. Twice a season is enough. No appetite for an extra round of "chants" from these c*nts. No 7-0  is worth listening to that.

Agreed, don't want anything to do with Utd outside of the two fixtures we have to play, it's just such a circus.

All 50/50, which has a chance of 0.0244%.

So about the same chance of them winning the Champions League this season.

All 50/50, which has a chance of 0.0244%.

You are if course assuming the draw is random and fair.

They had a pre-season game with Atalanta purely because of the shampoo ad vibes

Full last-16 draw...

Mansfield Town v Port Vale
Ipswich Town v Fulham
Manchester United v Newcastle United
Bournemouth v Liverpool
Chelsea v Blackburn Rovers
West Ham United v Arsenal
Everton v Burnley
Exeter City v Middlesbrough

matches played w/c 30 October 2023

A decent enough draw for us.  A trip to the south coast in a midweek isn't ideal but nothing that should interfere with our league ambitions too much.  Three other all premier league ties and two non-premier league ties means the quarter finals will be quite open.

Man City finally experiencing the pain of a tough early round tie in the domestic cups!  They'd have a few less pots in the cupboard over the past few years had they not so regularly been drawn against lower league teams.

Newcastle don't have the squad to compete in the league, Europe and the domestic cups.  May the fatigue and build up of niggling injuries derail their season.

Thanks.

Answering my own question regarding Bournemouth's badge, apparently the silhouette was initially added in 1972 with a depiction of their top-scorer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dickie_Dowsett).  Fair to say there was a degree of artistic license...

Newcastle don't have the squad to compete in the league, Europe and the domestic cups.  May the fatigue and build up of niggling injuries derail their season.

They'll want CL progression, but they know they're not likely to get further than the first knockout stage at best. Good experience for the team, but they're not likely to qualify again this season, and the League Cup might offer them the chance of actual silverware.

I think they'll go for it, over reach themselves, and blow themselves out in the league; they will probably sacrifice the FA Cup.
