Just ran out of legs in the end..

Tiredness led to poor decision making..

Let's now focus on the league.. Hopefully this triumph keeps 7-Hag at Old Trafford for next season as well..

Got what we deserved.  Feck all.  Utd were gone second half.  Unfortunately we played it like it was a friendly.  So wasteful in the final third.  When it went 3-3 I thought Utd would win it on pens.  We couldn’t even get there.

Game was so open, and it seemed like no one wanted to win it. Absolutely comical from Endo and Elliot at the end, one of yous make a fuckin decision

The speed at which people turn on players is frightening.

Use this to spur us on in the league an in particular to beat them and all will be forgiven.

  • But we will conquer the ball, each fucking time.
Too arrogant today, pissed about in possession too much and not clinical. Hope thats a fucking wake up call for the league game.

Hopeful, but this happened 1st time

Gakpo would want to have a long hard look at himself after that. thats not near good enough. His level of effort was extremely poor.

that result gives united a big lift for the league tie also.

Give his minutes from now to the end of the season to Danns. League is just too fast for him. Move on in the summer.

Don't know where to start, but if ever there was a game we chucked away it was this one. I guess the fixtures were going to catch up with us at some point, but there was a lot of uncharacteristic sloppiness out there today and for once the subs (Harvey aside) really didn't help us whatsoever. Thank fuck for the international break so we can put this out of our heads and at the very least everyone can stop banging on about winning a quadruple that I don't think anyone could ever win.

Oh, and the ref is a fucking bottle job not giving Fernandes the second yellow. No surprises given the location. And those chants again, how fucking original, like we've never heard them before. Scumbags.

The two 4/5 v 2 counter attacks are real head scratchers.

It summed us up. Carving them open and then dithering with the final ball.

Their last two goals were very poor from us giving the ball away.

Most of the second half was great.  Completely stifled them and dominated possession.  The exact type of 2-1 win we used to have in 2019/20.  You don't need to go score a hatful.  However, when we messed up and overcomplicated counter after counter, you knew it'd come back to haunt us.  They create one chance through Antony of all people, and they score.  I mean, that's just soft.

Even after Elliott scored, there just wasn't the control and game management anymore.  Nunez's giveaway for the 3rd was just mindless.

Architects of our own downfall.  And that's with McTominay, Rashford, and Maguire missing good chances.

Darwin not looking over his shoulder and giving the ball away. Then goes straight up the other end and sloppily gives the ball away in our own half leading to a goal.

Absolutely terrible stuff and turned the game again.

Our legs look they'd gone as soon as they made it 2-2, a game too far for some of our of star performers.

They weren't helped by some of our subs, Elliot running everywhere, but Gakpo was so poor, and Bradley seemed to be overwhelmed by the atmosphere.

Very strange performance from our forwards, Salah, Darwin and Diaz around their box, just seemed really unfocused.

Only ourselves to blame for that result. As bad as I've seen for a long time in the final third with some poor individual performances. Shame because we had them on the ropes for most of the second half. Maybe this was the game too far that we were wondering about, going full strength vs Sparta probably wasn't necessary. Also no idea how Bruno didn't get a second yellow.

On the bright side, that certainly eases the fixture congestion along with a favourable Europa draw and now it looks like we have a bit of an advantage in that respect vs City and Arsenal with difficult CL ties.

I love Jurgen to bits but that game turned on taking off salah and Robertson.

Most of our subs are driven by fitness, both came back recently and were probably a high risk of injury if we'd left them on.

Should ahve had them buried but did not take our chances, hopefully we do them in the league , which imo is more important, some of our defending was woeful, and giving away the ball, city win the fa cup now so we win the league , such a shame as we could have finished united's season there. on the plus side a weekend off in the run in may well help us.

We've run ourselves into the ground, not great from us today.
How Fernandez doesn't get sent off is beyond me, and somebody tell Kelleher to stop kicking long it's f#cking infuriating. Way more important we beat them in the league.
It's not about that. We just lacked a killer instinct for some reason.

Very good chances to go 2 goals up even in extra time. I'm just baffled.

Disgrace of a performance that. From 2-1 up second half we played like we were 10-0 up and Man U had no chance. Complete arrogance.
Despite the subs to go down to 10 men plus Gakpo we still managed to score but again can't manage the game as the arrogance kicks in once more.

  • We don't need anyone to tell us this is golden...
Sigh!

That was the second half that bit us but as much as that was not being able to keep the ball in extra time. Some very tired hoofs which allowed them to put the pressure back on. Arguably United had more good chances than we did and could have won it sooner but that's moot now anyway.

All prepared to say that id rather that happened today rather than in 3 weeks time but it doesn't feel like that now.

Anyway, now watch United get Coventry in the draw... :butt

So yeah I am legit not that arsed other than it was poor game management, hopefully we learn for the league in a few weeks where it actually matters

Left that behind us. Game was there to be put to bed at 2-1 but it almost seemed to easy. Like a cat playing with a mouse. Hopefully that will kill any chance of complacency for the League game.

Knew they'd equalise if we didn't score. They weren't even in it but we're not a team who can kill a game, we needed another goal.

Really disappointing, I thought in that 2nd half we toyed with them but were far too arrogant and made some criminal decisions. Gakpo stunk the place out when we came on and Bradley struggled against Garnacho.

Look, we've won enough games in the dying moments to know it's a great feeling. Also sickening when we lost. I think the hardest part is we've kept their season alive, but like others have said, I think we can take a lot from this experience for when we play them in a few weeks.

Days like this make it clear, we lack the likes of  and Henderson to remind people of their responsibilities and keep people on their toes, we are better technically without them, but can be a bit more complacent at times

 ;D

Got to be shittest comment post game surely or fishing.

Yeah we just needed Hendo and we’d be fine, fucks sake  ;D

I’d like to say it was maybe just a game too far for these players without all the cavalry back. Just had a few minutes to hold on, then head to the international break happy.

This team doesn’t do complacency, think it’s more likely that it was just tired minds and bodies that led to some pretty ropey decision making.

Having seen us miss out on the league and champions league but win the league and fa cup I am not that bothered. Keeps Ten Hag in a job and we will be fully on it for the league game which is by far the more important one. We will see Klopp off in Dublin hopefully with a league medal.

The attack just doesn't have that killer instinct apart from Jota and Salah, Jota was injured and Salah unfit, it cost us in the City game also Diaz should have buried at least one chance.

Another cup for Abu Dhabi now unfortunately.

Thought United would raise their game and it came at a time when the amount of games is finally beginning to catch up with us because of the injuries. Think we really missed Trent out there today with that final killer ball also.
Soccer - let's face it, its not really about a game of ball anymore is it?
