Well we finished with a cup and should get champions league football. Dissapointed that the league doesn't look a possibility now, but credit to the boss for enduring and the squad has done amazingly with all of the injuries we have had.

oh and fuck off Everton.

So glad the NBA Playoffs have started. Don't need to watch any footy games until the end of the season anymore. I am falling out of love with this sport from us falling short so many times to blatant cheaters to absolute refereeing shithousery every other week. Maybe next season will light a fire for me again with a fresh start, but i have not been this down about football since we had Roy Hodgson.

100%! The playoff have been amasing so far especially now where hand-check is allowed again. It's the like some of the 90s NBA spirit is back  ;D

Title challenge wasn't over today. You could see it coming for 3-4 weeks.

Jurgen deserved more, but it's tough against the unlimited money from a nation state and the corruption of you know who.

Did not have Klopp throwing 3 trophies on the cards for how this season would end. Horrific team selections in crucial games and even worse substitutes.

Doesn’t help he signed a bunch of crabs in the summer as well.

Yes we’ve whimpered to an end but what makes it worse is the corruption in this game is as blatant as ever…

Rather go back to the Ferguson days when we all knew it was corrupt but fuck me it was less obvious…

Eh, we’ve been the architects of our own downfall this season.

Sad to see Jürgen and the players wave the white flag over the last month.

Should still be a good party against Wolves to see him off though.

There is a rebuild coming up. A brutal culling too at least 5 should be leaving this summer. Simply not good enough anymore. Thanks.
This include some players who have been here for only 2 years. Their level of play is simply notngood enough

I’d be happy with a Champions League place next season and a cup.
We are going to be going through a period of transition.

We won’t get more than £50m for Salah.

Was it FSG that let Salah play 90 minutes in a dead rubber then and sub him after 55 minutes in an FA cup quarter final?

I am now more worried about next season. Not from the players but the disappointment with such a transition coming, I don't think things will be good at Anfield or on here. I fear that players won't be given time and in turn the manager won't be either.

We shouldn't have been challenging for the title. This shouldn't be seen as a bad season. But the nature of how the season has gone will make it a bad season, and it's the players fault.

That I fear will carry on into next season. We are already seeing 1 year into a rebuild that we need a clear out and the players don't have it in them.

We need to build and we knew that we did, but for part of the seasons e didn't think that. But now we believe we were good and now we are shit, and the rot needs removing.

The attack needs work depending on who leaves and who is sold - there's a lack of pace and cutting edge, but also lack of composure.

Defence needs tweaks which we knew from last year

Midfield maybe needs a DM but I would say other things are more pressing but if we can do that sure.

But rather than being a spread over the season the bad has come all at the end, and so the perception is these players are shit, and the whole thing needs throwing out and starting again

If we don't challenge next year I fear the fans will be baying for blood - from the owners to the players to the new manager

I do wonder if Jurgen seen this coming maybe the players hadn't the mentality required anymore to produce what he wanted. It's the senior players more than anyone who have let him down. Salah today was an absolute disgrace.

100%. Entire season unwound just when it was building. I get the shouts for fatigure/injuries but that wasn't what was wrong tonight, or against atalanta at home, or indeed against palace. People didn't want to win a fucking challenge. They just weren't up for the fight. Shameful, shameful stuff.

Form went pear shaped from the Utd cup game.  At least we should be in CL, but what a let down of a finish to the season.  Watch city drop points now to hand the title to Arsenal.

The only clean sheet we kept recently was the dead rubber at Atalanta.
Shocking.

I got mocked on here when I said we won’t win the league without clean sheets, as apparently our attack will be enough to win….
Same as the Rodgers season, clean sheets win titles, not winning games 5-2, because you finally get done.

Centre back, defensive midfielder and an attacker needed in the summer.

The brand new copies of Van Dijk, Fabinho and Salah/Mane needed to rejuvenate this team. Not asking for much.

In the cold light of day we ran out of steam and are probably just that bit short of City and Arsenal.

It's as simple as that. But as usual people can't cope with disappointment. Nobody would have been expecting us to be winning the title when we were bedding in a new midfield. But we fought hard but in the end couldn't stay to the end. We've looked knackered for a while in truth with players having to be overplayed sometimes.

No - well before that…you don’t win leagues by keeping ZERO clean sheets.
Our last clean sheet in the league was game week 27 and before that was 21.

Yeah. Not one result that did the damage. We rose the crest of a wave for a while but it’s come crashing down. Knuckle down, one more win to get 3rd nailed and then have a party home to Wolves.everybody owes Jurgen that.

When the chips came down this new leadership group wilted, we missed Hendo and Milner so much, standards were allowed to drop after that Utd game and never brought back unless a kid stepped up with some energy.

Needs a serious rethink of the leadership group in the team, we had control of our own destiny and fucked it through basic lack of concentration and desire.

Yeah we're a mid 80s team. Not good enough in either box at the moment and questions about the roles of all midfielders except Macca and Endo. Lots of work to be done and the pressure has cracked us as a collective but not a bad base to work from at all

Is a very fair summation. We haven’t been playing like possible Champions of late. A season too early perhaps. Unlike others I don’t think we need wholesale changes, a few yes, but plenty of potential with a re-energised coaching team and this experience we’ll be back next season

You can only go so far conceding first and then relying on moments of individual brilliance and more than a bit of luck to win games.  There’s been sadly too few times when we’ve gone out and bossed a game, created a ton of chances and won convincingly.  We’ve also looked very ropey defensively and like Everton’s first tonight…city and arsenal just do not do that. Honestly, we’ve flattered to deceive this season and our lucks run out.
Someday soon everyone will know the truth.  96 never forgotten.
