The presser before the game was something I've never heard from him. The sooner this ends for him the better, doesn't seem himself.

He's looked genuinely unwell the last while. Honestly think the PGMOL shite, dealing with these cnut refs and officials week in week out has just finished him off. Said it just after he announced his leaving there is no way they would let him sign off with a league title.
Soccer - let's face it, its not really about a game of ball anymore is it?

He signed off on it but go off.

Or perhaps it was dumped on him and he felt he couldn't just leave? He wouldn't just drop the club in it would he? He's not that type of person.

Nothing more would be 'Everton' for them to sing You lost the league at Goodison Park only for City to drop points straight away and then we win it

Still, Brighton.... I don't think City will drop points now

I'd like to see some players get the sort of run Curtis got at the end of last season. I'm thinking of Harvey, Quansah and Gakpo especially.

Gravenberch too. Show the new manager they belong.

I think once people are over the disappointment of the past few weeks, we'll realise that this season has been a fairly successful one. I said it earlier in the thread, but given how much of a catastrophe 22/23 was and we had to bed in an entire new midfield, I think it's commendable to be in a title race in Mid-April in a season where nobody expected us to be in one at all.

If you asked the majority of Liverpool fans last August whether they'd take a top 4 finish this season, I think the majority of us would have hesitantly accepted that offer.

This is true but we found ourselves in a title race and massively dropped the ball the last month or so.

Finishing and composure has gone. We’re conceding soft silly goals and so many players have lost confidence and form.

We’re giving the next manager a solid platform to build from but we need to make some decisions and get transfers right.

United have a shite squad. They are where they deserve to be.

They got 75 points last year and spent more this year. It hasn't worked out but you wouldn't have expected such a severe regression.

Again I don't think it comes down to the 3rd place and more how close a 3rd we are.

Wasn‘t to be.  We have performed well above my expectations this season, but we ran out of gas. Nothing for Klopp or the team to be ashamed about. Won a pot and qualified for CL. Loved all the kids playing a part. Would have taken that at the start. Hope we can enjoy the next few games and Klopp can have a positive goodbye.

I think that's an unfair way of approaching that comment, it feels like a straw man argument.

We still potentially could finish in the 80's points wise. Considering we had 67 last year that a marked improvement.

Those stats ain't true, we still have a slim chance.

Just need Manchester City to drop points against Tottenham Away and one more.

Arsenal we need them to drop points against Tottenham Away and one more (United away maybe)

We now have to win every game, I don't think it's possible but it's not done just yet

Villa have a centre forward who can score. We don't. We just look clumsy and misfiring and have done for the past few weeks.

I hope City just win at a canter now. Can't stand Arsenal

Yup on the striker front. Wonder if the new manager will keep Nunez?

You know what this season reminds me of - remember the first full Klopp season when for the last 8 games we really fucking struggled over the line because we were clearly goosed, and Mane was injured

It feels like that

Which is expected because much like that season, it was year 1 into a rebuild

That's not what I'm saying. Let's see what the final table looks like. To think we havnt over achieved when building a new MF is madness. You'd have taken 4th before the season kicked off.

Yes I would be third is hardly massively overachieving now is it? Also some players like Van Dijk recaptured their top level.

Yeah fck it - i’d have taken a league cup and top 4 before the first season. Obviously frustrating how it panned out in the end but it was a fun ride and lets face it we’ve had a better season that some of the other teams around us who have spent as much or more!

This league is still on but we need to win every game and hope the results in the other games go in our way but right now we can't score and we can't defend and we've got West Ham at 12:30. Yikes.

I meant to post before the game tonight that a win here added serious scoreboard pressure on City, and, that it we did win this and the other 4 games I think we'd be champions. Well. We'll never know.

Here's what I think.

Diaz vs Spurs aside.

Nunez vs Luton
Gravenberch vs Brighton
Trent vs Arsenal
Alli and Virg vs Arsenal
Take your pick vs united.

That's circa 10 points that we're missing as a direct result of our teams actions. You can't perform like that in this current state of league (with a financially doped behemoth) and expect to finish first.

Probably not gonna win the league (and probably not going to get that either)

But if we crack 80 points, with a trophy, I would say it is hard to call that a bad season

Yeah I agree. We’d need Arsenal and City to pretty much lose 2 of their remaining games. Unlikely but not impossible.
