A game of tactics. Every mistake is punished. First we made an error. Then we won the ball at the halfway line and four touches later Salah had equalised. Then they copied our mistake in the buildup and we got a penalty. Bang and two goals from Salah. We really need to be focused here, in every part of the game.

This system isn’t working? Despite our only loss in about 20 games being last week against Spurs.
It's been amazing really. So good in fact that we have consistently changed it at half time  ;)

Could have done with the first half going on longer there. Salah great under pressure though, lovely last 5 minutes. Brighton are conceding pretty freely at the minute and if we get on their backs now I'm hoping there's a chance for some daylight.

Lucky. Klopp is too stubborn. This system and MAC experiment as a 6 is not working.

It is working but we see where we miss Jones, an Elliott Macallister base is just too one paced, even Thiago has more athletic ability than the both of them.

It’s important if we want to challenge this season that we manage to keep the trio of Bajcetic Thiago and Jones fit as much as possible, I think Gravenberch adds something athletically to our midfield also but that’s more going forward.

I saw two red cards for them - applying last weeks rules today. Even Diaz could conceivably been in trouble.

I'm not sure of the rules anymore.

If you have honestly watched us for those 20 games and think it's working then fair play to you. This season we have been bailed out by our attack more than anything. We have kept one clean sheet the entire season in the league. Not to mention the fact we have barely looked solid for most of it bar the Villa game. But good on you if you think it's working.

Good to be on top but I hope we're proactive in changing things up because the midfield was being walked through with easy before that and Brighton will have a good spell again. Endo for Elliot with MacAllister playing higher would help us a fair bit I think.

Football is a funny old game isn't it ;D Got completely battered for 40 minutes but somehow we're going in ahead.

We desperately need to address why we're starting games so slowly though - sooner or later it's going to catch us out.

if we start fast, chances are our goals will be ruled out! :D

I agree Virg has to shoulder a large portion of responsibility for that goal also. Mac Allister has three players round him ready to pounce and Virg just strokes a slow ball into him, granted Alexis should be more alive but fucking hell try and avoid that, it's so typical of Virgil at times.

Not quite sure 1. How we're ahead given that performance and 2. how the fuck that isn't a red card for the penalty.

missed the start, so I'm not sure who's on the bench(?), but our midfield was getting played through with ease for much of that half.

I've actually watched Brighton's previous 2 games and I thought to myself that they looked dreadful playing out from the back and if they were to try it against us we'd be all over them and would have a lot of joy. For the first 40 mins I couldn't believe what I was watching as they looked incredible playing out  and our press couldn't get anywhere near them, and then boom that happens.

I personally think Mac Allister is having a bit of a stinker, obviously switched off for their goal, and there was another chance where we lost the ball and he just jogged back whilst their player ran through our midfield and had a shot. I'd get Endo on rather soon in place of Macca.

That old saying in football, but the next goal is crucial.

Macca is surrounded by Brighton players every time he has the ball we need to move a bit more and give some options. Once it comes back into our half we're just at walking pace which is only going to encourage Brighton.

Where the fuck is the red card? No attempt for the ball at all and impossible to not be a goal scoring opportunity as Szobo is 8 fucking yards from goal.

Don’t even think Taylor gave the pen for that one either, he let that go but realised he couldn’t not give a pen after another foul.

Fuck off you cheating fucks.

Disgraceful until the equaliser.

Lack of a proper DM is killing us at times but where is the urgency? Strolling about like dickheads

If we win though it's a great result but wake the fuck up.

Mac Allister is not a 6

As soon as we stopped fannying around playing 1-2s across our own box and played the match in their half we scored goals.  It was totally overthought until then. They've not created much beyond their goal either.

Get the ball up to their defenders and press like fuck from there. That works.

Hope we get a couple more.

We were terrible up until the first goal, Brighton all over us. Not sure what we were trying to do, but it wasn't working. However going in 2-1 up is dreamland. We seemed half asleep and unaware of all the press tiggers Brighton were using.

Anyway, onwards and upwards as not sure we could have played any worse in the second half.

we were strangely lethargic at times,
Brighton had the better passing, and midfield presence early on.
Two good goals completely turned the half in our favour

need to be careful of not letting them back in..

They tend not to give red cards for that in the box to be fair.

tell that to vvd. there is a harsher set of rules for us to be honest.

no team could handle us on the transitions. and wish we could exploit it more.

the Tottenham fiasco fucked us big time...

losing interest in the league after that...

great comeback before the half time, hope mo will get a hattrick and we get the 3 points

In isolation you can say the Spurs game killed us, it'll take some getting over, but we've put too many starts in like that going back 18 months now. It's a mentality problem.

We were so lethargic and lazy.
