Click HEREOld Trafford is two miles south-west of Manchester city centre. Parking is available at several paying car parks around the ground but it's too far to walk from any of the main line stations. DIRECTIONS & PARKINGTo see a map of the ground and surrounding areas click hereBy TrainThe main line station (Picadilly) or Oxford Road is too far to walk, but you can get the Metrolink to Old Trafford and Trafford Bar stations.
By CarFollow M56 until its end and then take the M60 (W&N) as for Trafford Centre. At Junction 7 leave M60 and take the A56 towards Stretford. Stay on the A56 for 2.1 miles then you will come to see Sir Matt Busby Way on your left. The ground is half a mile down this road on your left, although on matchdays this road may be closed to traffic.
Thoughts: If you're lucky enough to get a ticket for this game then I'd just be on my toes a little bit. Everyone knows that Old Trafford is a good ground, and I think most Reds will realise that if you go then you just have to keep an eye out ... obviously less now than in years gone by.
Away fans are located in one corner of the ground, taking up sections of the South and East stands, with a standard allocation of 3000. You will be searched going into the ground as par for the course. Don't always expect to be locked in at the end and be prepared to run the gauntlet from the slavering mob outside as Manchester's finest look on with disinterest.
Getting away from the ground can be a complete nightmare. The Old Trafford Tram stop near the ground is a good 10 minute walk from Old Trafford and gets very busy.
Pub guide and extrasMost of the pubs around the ground, will be home fans only, especially when we are in town. The Bridge at Sale two stops from Old Trafford on the Metro (about eight minutes journey time) is apparently away friendly if you're feeling up for a bevvy. Otherwise drink in the city centre, and obviously avoid wearing colours. Or speaking. Manchester pub and bar guide:
