I just hope Coutinho plays centrally, no matter how that hinders Henderson or Aspas.

Happy with that team. Much prefer Henderson over Allen at home. He has more goal threat and is more physical which is useful against Stoke.

I reckon Aspas will get one today and probably Sturridge!

Young to an extent, but then you have to bear in mind Borini and Alberto are both big signings, Sterling played 30 games last year so it's not exactly a team of wet behind the ears youngsters. Aswell as Skrtel and Suarez there's Martin Kelly to add to that. Add Cissokho and another new signing to the list and we're looking okay.

Allen is a pretty experienced player so ignore the comment about him but they're still inexperienced players. 30 games isn't all that much IMO. Still, agree about Cissokho and Willian - our bench will hopefully be looking stronger in September.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

We've got a really young bench there. Quite startling when looking at it. Suarez and Skrtel are out but aside from that, do we have anyone else?
Kelly and hopefully we can bring some more

Indeed. Imagine Aspas will drop to the bench for Suarez too all being well.
94 Corner to us. Last kick. Ali in the box and he’s scored

I really think this will be more of a 2-3-1 than a 3-3. Henderson wide left with Coutinho in behind Sturridge. Have to say, I am more surprised that both Aspas and Sturridge are starting then that Henderson is.

Henderson is going to have to do a lot of running today in order to cover for Aspas and Coutinho down those flanks

I've got a feeling that Origi is the real deal, from a couple of games I watched but mainly his interviews there seems to be something about him.

Reckon Henderson might play on the left and Coutinho behind Sturridge. Those two have a really good understanding so we need them as close to each other as possible.

They wont play as out and out wide men, full backs will be up and down.

I love all the excitement and optimism, but it's Stoke so I can't help but feel a bit wary.
There is no team I hated us playing more than Stoke in past seasons.
Hopefully they will be slightly less frustrating to play against with new manager though.

Anyways pessimism over, come on Liverpool! ;D

                      Mignolet
           Toure                 Agger
Johnson                                    Enrique
              Gerrard    Lucas

Aspas              Coutinho        Henderson

                    Sturridge

Clever by Rogers, put our strongest players up field to combat their defense.

Not sure about Sturridge in goal though

... :-X

Hope we see that formation. I'd love Coutinho in the middle though he might be out muscled and Henderson can do a brilliant, strong CAM when needed.

They all do their share of defending.

They both cut inside leaving a gap that he'll need to fill, this isn't bad because he has the engine to do this. It's just an unappreciated job by the majority of the fans but is so crucial to make this system a success.

Yes.

Suarez is now back out walking around the pitch at Anfield. Getting booed by Stoke fans. Liverpool fans a little stunned.

Every action doesn't need scrutinising. He's here, it seems he's clearly staying so why wouldn't he be at the game?
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I am so incredibly nervous and yet excited at the same time.
I'm expecting us to play beautiful free-flowing football and then conceed in the 89th minute from a set-piece, after hitting the crossbar multiple times and their keeper having the game of his life.

I'VE MISSED YOU FOOTBALL.

Less nervous because it's Hughes Stoke and not Pulis's, mind

Yeah, agreed. I think he is going to be the key today. I expect some real ruff-arsed tactics from Stoke on him. Let's just hope Atkinson nips it in the bud early doors. Thank God we haven't got Lee Mason as match day referee anyway.

Lots can be said about that picture, but for me the important thing is - Rodgers has shown who is boss and Suarez has accepted it. Let's hope we get a fantastic game, so the focus is on our performance and not the pre-match stuff.

Lucas worries me a bit as he hasn't been the sharpest in pre season and people have been going past him too easily. With him and Gerrard in the middle we lack mobility and I hope it doesn't end up leaving our back four exposed like it did at times last season.
