Might be a busy summer for him. Wouldn't be surprised with the 26 man squads he and Elliott gets selected for the Euros.

Great goal but didn't he get skinned by Watkins for their first goal?

Yes he did. Quansah doesn't have the explosive speed Watkins has; he's OK on a longer chase, but vulnerable to quick changes of speed. But let's remember that he shouldn't be in that position in the first place. He was forced there to cover for Trent, who was up the field.

He gave Watkins too much of the outside channel. It looked a bit mad when he posted the invitation. Watkins is quick! But the lad will learn. The great thing is that he has so many attributes.

Jürgen is a genius so I have to think the reason Quansah is playing ahead of Konaté is to get as many minutes into him as possible to ready him for next season. The mistakes he's been making in the last few games will serve as invaluable learning moments he won't need to have next season when the games matter again.

Even though it was effectively a free header, the technique and placement on the goal was Hyppia-esque.

Bit too early I think. Elliot should but he won’t - Phillips or Henderson need to be shoehorned in

Fantastic young player all around. Scored the last goal of Kloppo's era.

Perhaps a view held only by me, but I cannot shake the feeling that our season has hinged on the emergence and unwarranted omission of this young man.

Outstanding when called upon, resolute in defence and brilliant in possession, he has provided the perfect complimentary piece to Van Dijk in both style and character.

Discarded on account a single error in favour of a more "illustrious and reputable" colleague, how dearly his absence has cost us...

He is our future, he is the future - the next in the lineage of outstanding ball playing centre-backs that have reaped acclaim and award throughout the history of English football. The sooner we embrace that the better.

The past ended at 4:00 PM this afternoon, with a barely audible whimper.
The future starts now.

And - all things considered, I'd say it's started rather well.

I have no doubt that he'll have a significant impact on the next era of our club, it's fitting that his goal has bookended this one.

A nailed on member of the first team squad now, and potentially first choice starting CB alongside Virgil. A change of shirt number is needed; maybe the one Thiago is about to vacate?

Don't know about that thought he was poor against villa the pervious game. But has real potential this season was great for his development

I don't think Quansah was ever poor. He's made mistakes, he's young, but poor, really? He's currently out second best CB, and the future is bright.

Who'd have picked that one at the start of the season?  A half season loan at a League One club suggested a trajectory similar to Rhys Williams (no disrespect intended towards Williams) but Quansah has overtaken some very, very good defenders.

Our defence still opens up horribly at times but it's not noticeably because of anything Quansah is or isn't doing.

Poor was too strong a word agree, I was more responding to the previous message that he was our best player against Villa.

That's some debut season for a CB coming from the academy with his only first team experience being 15 games from a loan spell in League 1.

Absolutely correct and when he does (and he will), he'll be one of the best in the world again. Konate is young and has had a rough couple of months. All players go through rough patches.

Quansah has had a magnificent season though. He'll keep learning and developing.

Think he sneaks the provisional squad then maybe doesn’t make the final cut, but he’d deserve a spot even though he’s only just made his U21 bow.

I can’t see Southgate taking him though, he’s hugely risk-averse and Quansah does have a mistake in him, like almost all centre halves of his age.

Saved us tens of millions.

To be fair to Southgate he took Trent to the World Cup in 2018 after his first full season and when squads were only 23.
