Wow he’s really slow isn’t he.

Difficult to come into the PL and difficult circumstances to come into. He certainly looked like a 30 year old, slightly above average Bundesliga midfielder today.

Not a brilliant start, was left for dead by pretty much everyone.

It was a tough situation so will not hold it against him too much, but hopefully he settles and reads the game better over time, because physically I do not understand how he is supposed to cope in the PL.

Bit hard to judge when its 10 v 11 imo.

They always have an extra option on the ball.

Came in under tough circumstances, but thought he did quite well. Still hard to get into the pace of the game, but managed a few tackles and cycled the ball well. Hard to judge a player who hasn't played for us yet in a 10 v 11 match.

Impossible to judge him just on today's performance, he'll have time to show his quality (or lack thereof).

Down with 10 men and he's being thrown in the middle of the pitch. Hahahahha!!!

Welcome, lad.  ;D. This is crazy stuff.
It's there to remind our lads who they're playing for and to remind the opposition who they're playing against!

You’re right, but watching him chasing players like he was wearing flip flops is not a good sign considering we require so much athleticism from our #6.

Haha weird, I thought he was quite good. Got bullied off the ball once which led to a break but made one impressive interception, a couple of good tackles, recycled the ball well and had that lovely turn near the end.

Endo will be just fine, he did well today considering the situation especially. Very calm.

Considering a week ago it was nowhere in his reality that he would  be playing for Liverpool he did enough given the circumstances and in a 10 man team.

More than slow I think it looked like he is not up to speed with the team's tactics. Was sitting back screening the defence at times rather than hunting the ball with the press.

Not easy being dropped in few days after your transfer with 10 men.

He’s just made his debut at Anfield in the biggest stage of his career, his adrenaline should have been pumping. Lack of sleep doesn’t make you slow.

Honestly it will most likely take a few weeks training for him to understand the system, where to be positionally and also getting used to most likely having two aggressive mids infront of him which I'm assuming without watching Stuggart that they wouldn't be doing the same thing there.

No coincidence we seemed to have more control despite the sending off when he came on. He put his foot on the ball and slowed things down. We need to do far more of that in general. The Chelsea game was a prime example.

However it was very worrying on the one occasion when he bombed forward (from a tackle he won very well), and he needed to track back down the right, he looked incredibly slow. Slower than Milner even. We have given him a 4 year deal, what's he going to look like at the end of that?

Certainly seems like the right profile, and looks like he'll contribute. But I hope we have another 6 coming in to help him.

It pretty much was later on in the half when a foul was given against Diaz for something similar

I absolutely get this, he’s had hardly any training and needs to learn the system etc. My concern is that every time he got the wrong side of the ball he looked incapable of getting back behind it. No amount of time on the training ground is going to fix that unless we tell him to sit five yards in front of the CB’s.

yep, they really do.

Genuinley thought I’d come into this thread seeing outright support for a player who did well in a debut when he came into a team a man down, less than 24 hours after he signed for a team.

That is most likely what he should be doing imo, maybe not the 5 yards but you get my point.

We just need someone who can do the basic defense work and give the ball to our creative players.

Surprised myself. Thought he did ok being thrown in at such short notice. Probably hasn’t even trained with the team yet
