We only drew today and he was made up. Think that after Friday, the whole team realises what togetherness is all about. Pepe is not stupid. I think he'll stay. He's a fantastic keeper.

Kenny has 1 job this Summer.

Forget strikers, wingers or any other player.

Forget Hazard, Hulk etc. Forget £35 million signings

Because they mean fuck all if we lose Pepe.

The best goalkeeper I have ever seen play for this club. Had I seen Clemence play I may have put Pepe above him in the all time Liverpool Goalies.

He is that important for us

It's unlikely he will stay unless we do some of the above.  We need to bring in quality players to convince him we have a bright future.

Reina belongs in the Champions League. So he will leave.
Aye Torres had a great fucking time of it this season didn't he. When he's 30 and looking back on his career back in Madrid, I'm sure he'll sigh with the nostalgic warmth when reminiscing about the CL campaign of 2010/11, you know the one he left Liverpool to win and urinated all over his legacy in the manner he chose.

Fuck it... Even though every Pepe thread gets locked, I feel the need to participate in the ones that are clearly meant to big him up.

He's fucking class. I'm baffled by those that wouldn't give a fuck if he left. Quality keeper, and clearly a quality guy.

I think they would care, just saying they dont would make it easier if Pepe did go, I for one, dont think he is going anywhere,

I have no idea whether he'll stay or leave but I hope he stays.

If he leaves, I hope we have someone zeroed in so we won't have that keeper problem which we had for a while

This match, he's awesome on my books.  Throwing his shirt to the fans :) awesomeness

Pepe has always been slightly dodgy at corners, does flap a bit, but i don't think I've ever seen a keeper who hasn't flapped at some point. He just does it a bit more than the great keepers in the past. That being said there is no keeper in world football that I can think of in present day that doesn't flap at crosses. At least Pepe is the best keeper in the premiership, and in the european elite. At least we don't have to worry about blunders of which Gomes is liable for. I am chuffed we have such a good keeper that other clubs are jealous of, not the other way around.

Also he will stay, I think. After the turn around that we have gone through under Kenny, I really can't see anyone else wanting to go. The writing was on the wall with Torres for a while, its just that we didn't read it. Pepe was upset for his friend when he left, and said some things that the media decided to hold back 3 weeks after he said them just to big up their beloved Scum utd. And even if he did go, we will replace him with another decent keeper, maybe not quite so good but with Kenny and Comolli looking at new players I'm not worried about it too much.

I can see Pepe staying. Especially after today. Seemed made up after a draw! He defo has what is needed for captain material. Did notice that after Carra went off he started to shout more to the team and show his leadership qualities.

Btw, can we change the thread to "pepe reina"? It is his name after all.

Best in the world for my money and that save on Van Persie is the reason we took a point today. Showed some great hands on a few low crosses today too where anything less than precision on his part would have resulted in the opener for Arsenal. Great, great goalkeeper and a top bloke as well.

Those who say he's not happy at the club ect

Have a look at the smile from today and have a look at the smile when he shook Kenny's hand at the end of the game, he's loving it!

Definately one of the top 3 keepers in the world.

He's throwing his shirt away.. He's out of here.

That means Soto, Dirk and Raul are off as well - they all threw their shirts into the crowd. Soto started it and the others followed.

Ahh, was right at the end mate as the players were coming off.

Kenny congratulated Dirk, then Skrtel (I think) and then Pepe came over with a huge grin on his face, him and kenny seemed to have a bit of a laugh aswell.

Come on Alan, he's obviously being sarcastic.

As for me, I reckon he'll stay.  I just hope we show some ambition in the market so that we do right by Pepe.  He's a class player who ought to be competing at the highest level and with a few signings and given the crop of youngsters we've got coming through, there is no reason why we can't compete at that level.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

Nice to see the shirt throwing and smiles but that is in contrast to his somewhat withdrawn demeanour of late. My gut tells me that its still in the balance - perhaps the enhanced team spirit and a few top new arrivals will tip the scales in favour of staying.  Not convinced though...

I reckon it's 50/50 still whether he's staying or going. I'm sure if he sees real intent in the summer he'll stay. It's plain to see what this club means to Pepe.

What's all this stuff about him leaving then? Has he or his agent said anything? Or just ya typical fuckwit journalist said something? If it was in  the papers then I'm seriously disappointed in some of you lot.

Could pepe leave? Of course anyone could leave this summer, but there is no use preading rumors and doubt if you haven't got a clue what has been going on in the back ground.

Pepe was amazing yesterday, without him we would have been 2-3 goals down that's a fact!

I'm pretty sure he did an interview not long after Torres left saying he couldn't rule out leaving.
Saying things change and anything can happen etc.
Quite sure he didn't rule out a move to the mancs either.
Can't recall who ran the story/interview though.

Excerpt from Brian Reade's book "44 Months with a Pair of Cowboys" on the reign of the Tumours and the Huyton-Bootle Collective's conspicuous silence at the time...

"Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina told the pair he was amazed they didn’t go public and demand answers."

Says it all. Legend.

That a little silly. Torres was smilling on some of his last games with us too.

But Pepe will not leave, I feel that. He's a great man, he surely surely knows that we are a team in the rebuilding. Plus, he must love us.
