Yes i think Young Boys performing in the Wankdorf Stadium and a transvestite trip could be a bit much. :-[

To be serious i do feel that Thomas Cook should be held to task- they are a waste of time on Euro aways - this should have been a decent trip for them to organise.
I always report these issues to Spirit of Shankly. In addition they rip people off on their home packages.
Looks like I may have to resort to a Thomas Cook package for this one, are they generally a bad experience?
I'm looking to accumulate some Euro Aways on a new membership card by it's nigh on impossible if you ain't got any from previous years.

Please note: if collecting or purchasing tickets on the day of a home game, we advise that you arrive as early as possible to avoid unnecessary queuing.

But we don't have a home game between now and then........

Remember when we played Sion in Switzerland in 92 went on an organised trip think it was with Laura at lonsdale at the time flights to geneva I think and coach to Sion, so I can't see why T Cook won't be running a trip, if they don't questions should be asked

If you book with TC when does your match ticket go in your purchase history?

Usually in the week or so after the game.

He said when not does it! Not sure, only been once. Think it was quite late, and the seat on your record won't match the one they give you, but it will show up in the end.

Why don't people think they'll do one? That's my only way of getting there too. And if they don't plan to, why not say that rather than "we are working on packages"!

BSC YOUNG BOYS v LIVERPOOL - Match Day 1 - 20th September 2012

Following the Europa League group stage draw which resulted in Liverpool FC being drawn against Young Boys. After careful consideration, due to Berne Airport closing at 22.00 hrs, it is not practical to operate charter flights within these time restrictions. Availability of airline seats into other nearby airports at this peak holiday period is extremely limited. As you would expect this impacts hugely on availability in the market place, which in turn increases the cost dramatically. As a result, this makes any possible overnight trips offered incredibly expensive and therefore not viable to operate on this occasion.

Pathetic excuse-- I would hardly call 20 September the peak holiday period. Why don't they fly into Basel and then transfer down to Bern by train- it takes only one hour.. Maybe they don't want to act like a proper Tour Operator.

Come to think of it the players will be staying in Bern that night.

Checked with Spirit of Shankly and they have had no feedback at all-- a few responses might help

Thursday 16 August 2012 at 06:55

Following on from our statement about Thomas Cook last month, Spirit of Shankly would like to ask our members for any issues they have encountered with Thomas Cook during their time as Liverpool FC's official travel partner. We wish to reiterate our stance that we believe that the relationship between LFC and Thomas Cook needs to be examined further. Through members sending their experiences and issues with Thomas Cook to us, it will allow us to further reinforce this message.

We would ask where possible for members to give accurate and detailed information including dates and opposition teams. This feedback is particularly important for any potential Europa League away games, but we also want to hear about any issues regarding domestic games and the Thomas Cook Match breaks.

The feedback we receive will be forwarded on to the club and to ensure they receive it before any potential further Europa League away games we would ask members to e-mail us at secretary@spiritofshankly.com no later than the 20th August.

Have fun Jeremy! Thought you might do that! Out of our price bracket now unfortunately. Would have looked for a flight sooner if I thought TC would do that.....again.

Yeah cost almost 200 more than it would have done a couple of weeks ago but at least I saved a bit on the train fare after the advice on supersaver tickets from  glockdanny -( cheers mate) - only glad Jeanette isn't going , would definitely have been a non starter then.  Not looking forward to going straight to work from the airport on friday morning !

Monarch fly from Manchester & Birmingham to Venice, cheaper than Easy Jet at the moment as well, type GETAWAY when you go to pay in the discount code bit & you can get the Manchester one for £70 return & the Birmingham one for £40 return. Thursday very early to Saturday.

Geneva - Bern on the train is about 1hr 40 mins so you should be fine to make it. Have a look at the Swiss rail site for times http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html
