There's nothing inherently wrong with those but they hardly set the pulse racing.

A state owned energy provider is probably the most exciting but I still expect them to water that one down when it comes to it.

The final pledge is an interesting one as it seems like teacher retention is the bigger problem - although measures for that may be part of the same pledge.  My two sons are both taught by a teaching assistant for one day a week as their primary school is at least one teacher short.  They've also effectively lost their headteacher as she's now split across two schools in the trust and the other is in special measures so occupies all of her time.

I very much appreciate that it's going to take a long time to reverse the decline of 14 years of Tory rule and maybe that's as ambitious as Labour can really be.  I worry that they're just going to slightly slow the decline and spin that as success.
I initially missed the 6 pledges at the top and thought that Starmer was promising cut price burgers and sausages.  Good enough to win my vote.

Off the top of my head we will have Alisson, Van Dijk, Robbo, Mac Allister, Szobozslai, Diaz, Nunez, Gakpo, Jota, Konate as starters for their sides. Trent will also get a good amount of game time as well.

Yep agreed. The difference is we are expected to fight for top four next season, i.e. 70 odd points. Arsenal need to break the 90 point barrier which they haven't managed once yet.

Getting to play with the big boys is easy-ish, keeping pace with the big boys is far from.

Liverpool Life / Re: Woolton Picture House closing for good.

Imagine the fume in Woolton if the cinema was turned into a homeless shelter!!! Such a shame it is going to rot until finally it has to be demolished for safety reasons. It would have made a great place to watch live football on the big screen, and I always wondered if it could be converted to some sort of e-gaming ‘arena’ for the benefit of the many youth who hang around in the village with f all to do.

Great British Energy sounds great. Not sure how this actually manifests in the real world, especially if the energy lobby gets stuck into politicians, client media etc. When you're protecting huge bonuses and dividends, you're going to move heaven and earth to protect your market share.

Just as long as Sky show everything, especially post match. Never forget how in 2019, was so proud of them, Ciry won at. Right on and then within a few minutes of the final whistle they switched over to show City lift the trophy which was already being shown on a different Sky Sports channel. Fuckers.

Cheers Paul. Would be lovely to send Jurgen on his way with a big win but ultimately the result feels fairly academic and it’s all about giving the great man the send off he deserves. Me and my son will no doubt be in a mess whil my wife and daughter wonder why we do this to ourselves. :D

Get on board with the supporters groups to lobby the club over their vote on getting rid of VAR. Fans need to unite on this (all PL clubs not just ours).
I'm not keen to keep VAR but I am 100% certain that fans will still remain furious each week about the refs because that is the prerogative and default position of fans.
