New season started today (yay).

Lancashire v Surrey Day One washed out (booo).

Honestly, what’s the fucking point starting the season at this time of year? What do they expect?

ends on 335* which is the highest 1st class score ever at Lord's. which isn't a bad ground to hold that record.

He had 410* against Leicestershire in 2022. He has form for this :) We won that game, but this one looks like a nailed on draw unless conditions change.

Worcestershire's ground will be unplayable for two more months because of the floods apparently.

It feels like it's been flooded more often than it's been dry this year. Flooded again just before Easter. Oddly, in spite of New Road being right on the banks of the Severn, it's the Teme that's actually flooding the ground. Lots of talk of moving elsewhere from Ashley Giles if funding can be found which would be a shame but the current constant flooding isn't sustainable.

Easier pickings in Division 2 presumably? But great to see him back. Love watching him bat.

Did I say YCCC made a loss of £8m last year despite hosting an Ashes test? That can’t be good news in the long term?

Keaton Jennings scoring 172 - England call up incoming?
 :-\

George Bell run out on 99 with a direct hit, bit unlucky I think and would have been interesting if they had DRS in the County Championship.

They always seem to get skittled by Essex. Saw some negative comments about the coach already. Did he come from Durham? Do we just have a fairly ordinary batting line up these days? Never seem to produce decent batsmen (Bohannon isn’t too bad I guess).

Lancs batted alright last week, perhaps favourable conditions? I think Essex just seem to be very strong this season in all departments.

They were on and off a lot and it’s cold and grey. And Essex do always have a good bowling attack. But they raced to about 62/1 off 9 overs. Maybe we just bowled poorly.

That's bad, very bad. Snater the pick of the bowlers perhaps with 7 wickets in the match?

I have to say that I was surprised Lancs brought in Lyon as the overseas player. Early days but he hasn't looked that convincing, regardless it just doesn't come across as a particularly exciting or inspiring signing.

92 all out! Made a better stab of things second innings but still on course for another defeat. This Bruce looks the worst overseas signing of all time.

Jennings with a 91, seems to be the pick of the Lancs batsmen at the moment, but that isn't difficult!

That Bruce scored more runs yesterday than in all his previous innings combined I think. :D

Bohannon is always talked up but doesn’t seem to score really heavily.

Don’t know if he’s batting too high but Balderson has some workload the poor bastard. Bats at 4 and seems to be our best seamer too.

Long old season for Lancs if these are the bums they’re relying on to get people out. Absolutely awful attack. No variety of unpredictability to it at all.

Lancs have been declining for a few years, but we're well and truly on the speed-run down the slope now.  Need a clear out.  How the fuck someone as average at best as Chilton got to the top of the club I will never know. Chapple did well but actually the side as a whole were more successful under Giles, a complete outsider. Probs time to end the jobs for the boys shit.

Lancs going to lose but put up a bit of a fight (too little too late I know). Hartley made 50 and Matty Hurst the keeper has just made his maiden ton. 76 ahead but 9 wickets down.
