I did speak to him Nancy but he said he wasn't ready for a serious relationship right now and was just looking for a quote, unquote "fuck-monkey".

And not in a good way

I've not seen Phoenix Nights for a couple of years now, i love how you forget how funny stuff is when you dont watch them for ages.

Thought it was the worst one so far. Maybe it's just the mood people are in when they watch them, as I was pretty tired.

There were some great one-liners in it (see above for a good selection of them).

Think Mark's character is great - especially all the doubts about the wedding stuff.

Peep Show is finished. This series has been a disaster.

Seems the writers have lost the plot, they're just trying too hard to be funny. And what's with all the American gross-out style comedy? Jez getting a job where he wanks off his boss? Please. Might as well just put American Pie on instead.

The first 3 series were funny because the storylines and plot were based on pretty realistic day to day things which everyone could relate to. Everything was pretty simple but the delivery was perfect and everything worked.

Friday's episode, like the other 3 in this series had no real plot, it just seemed like a mismash and the "comedy" was far too obvious and just plain silly. Maybe Channel 4 wanted higher ratings and a wider range of audience? The first 3 series weren't well watched, maybe they've been asked to sell out?

Worst thing is there is a 5th series on the way which would well and truly ruin it if it carries on like this. 2 episodes left to save the series, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I was really looking forward to this series but the magic has gone for me. It's just not the same.  :(

it has been far superior to series 3.

And, whats wrong with Jez giving that fella a wank? In series 1 or 2 he gave Superhands a rogan josh, and vice versa, remember the "bad thing"?

That was a bit different imo. Wasn't a very original story line doing it again on friday either.

Can't believe any long term peep show fans could enjoy watching this series.

Some valid points - but don't go overboard. It probably has been the worst start to a series yet - but it is still the funniest thing on the telly.

Last Friday's was the best yet... fingers crossed it will keep improving.

The writing has changed i think, it's certainly changed in it's feel (mark hating sofie was done badly, it just too quick a turn around after three series of hilarious obsession - to have a ten minute scene at the end of series 3 to turn it around, the johnson and big suze didn't fit their charj, acters at all, etc)  - but it was never a ratings winner and i'm sure c4 wanted to capitalise on the popularity of mitchell and webb on bbc2 and have discussed this with the writers when commisioning series 4 and 5.

Ah, but i'm sure none of this matters - we love it so we bring expectation when all we should be doing is sitting back and laughing our heads off.. which it still is the best show on tv for.

Ah, and it's starting again now on e4.

Yes, I hate my favourite show on tv don't I?  ::)

I did have high expectations of this series and maybe when the dvd comes out I'll watch it again and enjoy it a bit more, but it still doesn't come close to the earlier series.

Ste- what did you reckon to S3 when it was first aired? Because I found it a huge letdown only redeemed on later DVD viewings.

Yes, that's a fair point. It did have a similar feel to S4 but I can remember enjoying it a lot more than at the moment.

Appearances from Big Suze and Nancy did soften the blow somewhat though ;)

Anyway, Friday night can't fail for me now. Just gonna relax and try to enjoy it.

Yeah, I cannot wait for tonights, I like others sometimes expect too much from Peep Show, meaning to laugh all the time, it must be quite hard for them to keep this show going, and thats why I have reservations about the next series already being commissioned, but I have faith.

Peep Show is my favourite programme - end of.
