London Tube 'Northern' Line Shut

Shutdown on safety row Tube line

An entire London Underground line has been shut down amid safety concerns.

Services on the Northern Line, which carries 660,400 people every weekday, have been suspended and may remain closed on Thursday.

Union bosses called for trains to be withdrawn on Wednesday, after one ran through a red light at Mill Hill East, and its emergency brakes failed.

It was the fifth incident on the line, and dozens of drivers are refusing to work on safety grounds.

Commuters using the Northern Line, one of the busiest on the Tube network, have suffered delays all week, because of concerns over the brakes.

Always a way to work with the tube. If one lines down, just get somehting thats close to it and then take a bus
"You have to admire animals. Hamster spun round in a wheel three times bigger than him and abruptly lands on his back. Then just gets up and carries on as if nothing happened! If that was a human he'd be helicoptered to hospital, off work for 6 months have back issues for 20 years and then start legal proceedings against the wheels owner"

Everybody who was late to work at my place blamed it on the Northern line, I seemed to remember the same thing happening with the Central line a few years back  ;)

I used to love doing this at school on different days. Like when it was known there was road works on the main entrances to our city i'd blame my lateness on that, even though I lived a 5 minute walk away ;D
