Making me wish I hadn't sold my ticket now, not meeting the guy until tomorrow so could still do a runner...

Amazes me that anyone would sell their ticket for something like this.

If Blackpool is even half as good as the Barra's was, then it is a horrendous decision.

They're on top form. The Haitian conga players have really added another dimension to the rhythm section, and you can tell the band just wants to have fun.

I'm still feeling sick from Friday night, but fuck me it was worth it.

I am so incredibly jealous of anyone who was at one of these gigs. You're all bastards.

Really hoping they're at Glastonbury...

Ha! I was driving so just the one early doors. I reckon Barrowlands is the best venue in the country, and that was one of the best of a number of great gigs I've seen there over the years. The atmosphere was brilliant,  99% of the crowd had made an effort, and most had made a real effort. Just a handful of slack jawed indie kids in plaid shirts and/or anoraks. This was the fourth time I'd see them, and the band were as energetic as they were when I first saw them supporting Franz Ferdinand eight years ago.

I really like the new album, and I've played it a lot, but I think it wears it's influences and inspirations more obviously than it's predecessors. I don't think it's a classic for them, far less anyone else, although I reserve the right to change my mind entirely at a later date. I think it may appear a surprising distance down the list of best albums of 2013. :wave

I should take the opportunity here to thank Mr Dilks for the heads up on the guy on Twitter who was offering the face value tickets - I got lucky. For a change. ;)

No worries man, always nice to see a true fan get to go.

Re: the album, for me it's their second best after Funeral. I really like NB and The Suburbs too, but Reflektor is growing on me all the time. It's one of those albums where you hear new things with every listen. There's so much more depth to it than the previous two. There's a lot of songs I love on The Suburbs (Ready To Start, Empty Room, Suburban War, We Used To Wait, Sprawl ii) as well as Neon Bible (KTCR, Intervention, Ocean Of Noise, ACTB, No Cars Go, My Body Is A Cage) - but there's also some I usually skip, whereas Reflektor seems more like one whole album that needs listening to from start to finish. Plus the production is incredible. Reflektor, Hey Orpheus, and Afterlife is as good as they've ever been IMO. I'm is glad that they're trying to do something different - for me people will look back in 30 years and appreciate even more how good they are.

Ah fuck it, I'm just a mega fanboy.

Lad I was supposed to be selling my ticket too messed me about and wanted to meet a couple of minutes before vampire weekend were due to come on so I sacked it off.  Offered to post it but not heard anything.

Load of things that make selling appealing, £40 ticket, £30 trains, sorting out fancy dress and being knackered for work the next day.  Reduced setlist too and I wanted to get some McBusted tickets.  Migh
t go yet.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...   ;)

A stressful morning spent getting tickets for both Brooklyn shows and now just need to line up Toronto on Wednesday.  Won't be anything like the experience you and Michael just had but what the hell:  I'm still excited.  Love the fact that they're still asking for costumes/formalwear at the arena shows - as if on Flatbush Avenue in August!  I suppose I'll try but once upon a time it would've been completely impossible unless you were begging to be mugged or much worse.

Think I have to agree with you once again - Reflektor overall is settling in nicely behind Funeral at this point.  The "Vol. 2" disk is simply magnificent as far as I'm concerned.

Which night in Glasgow featured Richard in the kilt?!  That must have been a sight to behold...  ;D

Email today re the US tour hinted that the pre-orderers might be able to use their code again for shows next year...?

Hope they do some form of European tour that isn't just festivals.

Yeah, people who bought tickets to the warm up shows have had their codes reset. Hasn't gone down too well with folk that skipped the warm up shows to save their codes for the proper tour, but for people like me - great!

@Jersey - the most likely thing is a big outdoor summer gig in the UK, then in the spring they'll announce an autumn tour of the UK/Europe.

I don't blame them to be honest. I weighed up whether to use minefor this gig and thought... tiny venue, ace new album, go for it. If I'd decided to wait I'd have been furious.

Frankly most people had better luck this morning with a barely-announced presale through arcadefire.com:  the album preorder codes were fairly useless, especially for those wanting GA tickets.

What the hell - I'm sorted for my three shows!  Roll on March.

To everyone really upset about us asking people to dress up at our shows… please relax. It's super not mandatory. It just makes for a more fun carnival when we are all in it together. So far these have been the best shows we have ever played.
See you soon.

It's always been that way. There were people who didn't dress up for the Barrowland's gig, and they were allowed in.

Wow, what an album. Listened a few times now but properly listened to it yesterday. Amazing.

Love the contrast between the two CDs (although I am listening on Spotify).

The sudden change of pace plus the monotone piano riff in Here Comes The Night Time kill me.
