He's only young, doesn't want to do any permanent damage. The eye was really bad.

Dubois quit
I think so. Just looked like he didnít have the heart for it anymore, he decided to go down and wait for the ref to count to ten. Thought it seemed like his corner were trying to convince him to believe in himself at times throughout

I wonder if Dubois has done his eye socket. Cracking fight both were hurt & kept coming forward, Joe Joyce had the bigger heart.

Dubois quit

Hard to say - his eye had been closing as the fight went on but at the end there had just immediately ballooned up - you wonder if it could be a similar injury to the ones Brook had?

That said from the way he was looking in the corner between rounds I think he was really struggling stamina wise.

Joyce had fought better opponents and been chin checked. Dubois had fought nobody. Dubois needs good hard fights coming back, and maybe he can come again, he is young enough.

Joyce has a good jab but AJ/Fury will finish him. Usyk rematch has intrigue and could sell

Exactly people said this about Brook too unless you have been in that place itís hard to say what youíd do.

I think this is exactly the same as Haye v Thompson back in the day.

Iíll say it now Dubois will win a world title and Joyce wont

That eye is in bad shape, I dont think he was seeing anything coming from Joyce's right and I dont blame him for quitting. Frampton and Hayes are talking shite here. Rather he walked out of the ring than be carried out on a stretcher.

Have saying Joyce is ready for a World title fight :lmao I know he's his mate but come on!

As I said itís not something you say lightly about someone brave enough to get in the ring, but in pure boxing terms there heís quit, he wasnít put in big trouble by that shot, he decided heíd had enough. Never gonna win a world title with that mentality in boxing

The criticism is a bit harsh. Says the man that quit with a broken toe

You try to do anything with an eyepatch glued to your face.

Dubois was probably the better and powerful fighter but Joyce was able to hurt Dubois and it showed

Making excuses for losing and quitting are different things I'd say though to be honest. A lot of boxers do the first

Not sure what the future holds for these two. Joyce entered boxing far too late and possibly missed his prime, and Dubois might end up being damaged goods if he doesn't have the improve on tonights showing.

The pace of that fight was brutal, I reckon Tyson and Jones Jr will display better speed than Joyce tonight.

I do get that but thatís the difference between those who have the will and the heart to go all the way.

He's an orthodox fighter, his left eye is his leading one, having heart when you can't see whats coming at you at heavyweight is bollocks and the sooner people move away from that attitude the better. Punches that hard can kill you, especially if you've got no way of avoiding then. He quite but he was right to quit because with 3 rounds to go he could have done a lot of extra damage to that eye.

It's a shame because the ref would've definitely taken him over to the Dr. after that shot & it would have been stopped.
