Proved himself as a decent player this year, im glad he leaves with a reputation as an able player and a champions league medal rather than how he would have left previous to this year. I agree its the right decision, not quite enough quality for us im afraid but thanks all the same smiler :)
Im not arrogant, im just better than you.

Ah, Newcastle at home last season nicely adapted hun! ;)

Good luck to Igor, I'll always give you a very warm welcome on any return to Anfield. Hold your head up high mate, you were a big part of us winning the European Cup, and we'll never forget you for it.

He's great, He's big, his name begins with IG or Biscan, or Biscan.
Balotelli, Falcao, Cavani...

I'll be shocked if it's anyone other Etoo. Etoo or no-one. Simples.

In fact, I'll do you all a favor and ban myself from the January transfer window forum if we get anyone other than Etoo.

Agreed 100%

Sorry to see him go but at least he is going out on a high and can pretty much dictate his own terms with a new club.

I hoped he would get another year or 2 on contract  :'(

he didn't read the game as well as Hamann, but I would certainly have held on to him as an understudy. Anyway, I hope for his sake he is first choice wherever he goes.

This thread is a perfect illustration of Igor's improvment - if he had been leaving a season or two ago, it would have been full of 'Fuck off Biscan' comments. Instead it's full of good wishes. I'll be sad to see him go, I must admit. At least you proved the doubters wrong, Igor. Good luck to the future.

Good Bye and Good Luck

I will miss Igor he has been nothing but professional during his time at the club, played out of position, yet never moaned, just got on with the job.

Came into his own this season and was vital to winning the European Cup. THANK YOU IGOR

His departure (and surely Didi's new contract) will mean there is still room for a new midfielder.

Farewell Igor, played well this year when he was FINALLY  played in the central midfield position. Was wrongly [played at centre half  for a long time even though he  stated he wasnt a central defender.

Not surprising.

I've always rated Igor. He was treated shockingly poor by our previous manager, but this season he got to prove just how good he can be. When he gets to play in CM. He played a fine role in the CL campaign. Feels good he will leave on a high. If anyone deserves some success after the last few years, it's Igor. All the best of luck to him in the future. Wherever he ends up, I reckon the club will be happy with their signing.

AT LAST

should never have worn a red shirt, one of the biggest waists of money the premiership has ever seen. cult hero or not igor biscan should not be a premiership footballer, sell him to trammere they need a few players for the reserves iv herd.

If you've got nothing nice to say, fuck off. He was excellent coming in when Xabi and Stevie were out. Finally got to play in his favoured position. It is always sad when we have to say goodbye to a fellow red, good or bad. He's served the club for years without a single complaint. His proffesionalism and attitude deserved the kind or respect you seem incapable of.

I've read some of your posts and agree that most of us like Igor more for his attitude than his ability. Tell you what, I'd pick an average player with a great attitude over a great player with an average attitude anyday and Igor is the perfect example of this.

I'm truly sad to see him leave but it's the best thing for him right now. He's proven that he can mix it up with the best in Europe and football in Italy (if that's where he's headed) will likely suit him more.

Though he may be far from the best thing that has happened to the club, I really see no need to knock the lad down. He's been played out of position, abused and criticed by fans and left out of the team just because he was seen to be an awful centreback. And yet, he didn't bitch about it. He took it in his stride and proved this season that while he still is a shit centreback, he's a capable midfielder. Great guy with a great attitude. These are the kind of players I want to see at the club. Attitude first, then ability.

Agree.  I'm sad to hear that Igor will be leaving.  I don't even know when I started rooting for him - must be after the Fulham game.  I feel that we have yet to seen the best of Igor but you're right, he is probably more suited to European football.  I wish him all the best and hope he'll be successful in his new club.
