Yeah, forgot about Everton finishing with negative goal difference above us!

Goes to show the total inconsistence this season that we've had . . .

Anyone got a link?

Has Cisse scored as much as Baros has since the New Year now? Sums up Milan's dismal run doesn't it. As much as I like the lad I think we will get more from starting with Cisse and hopefully bringing on a fired up Baros later in the game against AC.......

good end to a pretty good home record- bar a few performances. if rafa can sort our away form out then we'll be right back up there with the so called 'big three'.

so finished with 2 pts less than last season ,given the injuries not as bad as it looks , away form needs improving but if you look at our 2 home games before today, boro and spurs maybe those results cost us 4th. believe its the first time in clubs history that we didnt finish with a scorer in double figures, thats a big worry, lets hope djibril is fit for a long period now.

Just got back from Anfield - actually a rather enjoyable game. We had a few great chances, especially Carragher's superb effort, and Riise's shot that hit the bar. Great to see Cisse play a full game, and even better to see him net two good goals.

The defending was nervous at times, particularly towards the end of the game, but what matters is that we won - good confidence booster ahead of the European Cup final. Rafa's got a few selection problems now, eh?!

The lap of honour at the end was great. The crowd were in good voice too. Oh well, that's it until August - except of course for a certain match in ten days time...

Really happy the Djib got a coulpe, nice to see someone score a pen for us too.  It's been a weird season in the league but it's good to see most of our long term injuries clearing up before the end.

Djib scoring in the first and last league games of the season, YNWA.

I've been saying for a while now that Cisse will be top quality next season, and I stand by that. He's class, and he'll be our top scorer in the league next year, I reckon.

aparently good in the first half, but poor in the second (but he could have been tired)!

Is this the first time any team has qualified for the Champions League with a negative goal difference?

Must be, surely- but one for the Stattoes out there. You can't fault their 'mentality' though- the number of times they have ground out results or snatched a point in the last five minutes has been remarkable.
Of course, they'll be shit next season  ;)

I would love to see baros and cisse start against milan. dont think there defenders would be able to cope. "Both can run, shot and dribble." Milan have been looking a bit shakey at the back recently so we need to exploit it. because i dont really think gerrad best postion is behind the striker i think it would be more benefical having another stricker instead and dropping gerrad back to centre mid. but thats my opinion

Anyone know how kewell played?

I am much happier with us playing 4-2-3-1, with two holding midfielders and three attacking ones supplementing the lone striker - and it has to be Cisse, who is fresher and coming into form and fitness just at the right time.

Rafa prefers 4-2-3-1, and we will need to win the midfield. I don't see anything to suggest Cisse and Baros can link up, and it's too big a risk against a side as good as Milan.

The holding players will be vital against Milan, won't they. And with Cisse we have an excellent 'out' if needs be- the Milan back four won't be able to press too high, because we have awesome pace as a threat. I think their experienced back 4 would be quite happy to show Baros down a blind alley all evening.

I think our formation HAS to be 4-2-3-1 against Milan. It has worked so brilliantly against Juve and Chelsea.

I also prefer that formation, that way we have alot more control in midfield with enough players going foward also.
