would have known if it was ned's or carter or ride as i liked them! ned's, poppies and wonderstuff - only decent thing out of the midlands since i left!
saw ride live and ned's and poppies - all superb. what other bands you like barrettski?
I'll have to confess to being just a tad retro at the moment here... basically because there's so much manufactured shite out there at the moment that I've been forced into my LP and EP hole.
Pop Will Eat Itself... marvellous stuff.
Other bands then... Charlatans, Hurricane #1 (Andy Bell from Ride), Sisters of Mercy (everyone should have a dark side), New Order (Ibiza 1988 kind of corrupted me there), Jesus and Mary Chain (big time, but wasn't around in Liverpool for their greater glories), Chapterhouse (I had a shoe gazing faze too), Cure (OK and a gothic phase), Suede, Ash (there was a flicker of something good in 1997 or thereabouts), Manic Street Preachers (was there for their 1990 rise to fame and "4 real" shinnanigans), The Real People (total scalls), Weddoes (mentioned them already), Van Morrison, Pixies (and a bit of Sugar), Northside, Roses, Inspirals, Mondays, Farm (hard not to get wrapped up it all that at the time really), Doors / Pink Floyd ('cos you couldn't skin up in silence now could you?), Curve (cos Toni Halliday was / is lush) oh and Lush themselves, Janes Addiction were rambling for a time, Paris Angels (for your one hit wonder), I won't mention Thousand Yard Stare (MichaelA will ask me to look in the mirror again), U2 (preferably Boy or War as Bono's best mullet years), Simple Minds ('cos there is a bridge between New Romantics and Stadium Rock somewhere), Propaganda (if only for the RAC rally tune - Duel)... and that concludes Barrettski's musical Tuesday wankathon.
But today's CD is Ride and the song for today is Time Machine... closely followed by the Charley Twins and Overising.
