Sluggish first half which i guess can be expected due the fixture conjestion.

We've got into some good areas but not produced a good enough final ball or our finishing has been poor again ( Garcia row Z again  :butt )  Nunez hasn't reall impressed me again, seems to want an extra touch/extra tiome on the ball.... ope its just a case of still getting used to the pace of the premeirship.   Really don't like Garcia off a striker away from home - he just doesn't influence the game enough from there.  Mellors looked a lonely figure up front, if we're to win this he needs more support.

Carra & Hyypia have been excellent.

Simple balls not being played, too many long (not direct!) balls though we look stronger down the wings. Bar a few runs by Huckerby they're not posing too much attacking threat. Someone should tell Luis to play the simple ball sometimes!

Oh and for you Nunez bashers he's not shite but he's not good.

Team performance is about 5/10 - average but Norwich look quite shit. With substitutions we should shade this but unless something dramatic a la West Brom happens this'll be a scrappy win at best.

Nunez has done plenty of good things but Garcia has been poor?

I'd say they've both been poor but Garcia is at least looking to get involved in play, poor crossing by Nunez (apart from 1 cross that nobody got on the end of) and an atrocious airshot (similar to Riise's a game or so back), Garcia rash with his shooting again.

Garcia, Mellor, Daio and Nunez are shocking.... although Garcia has the quality to do something.

Diao has been no worse or not better than anyone else. In fact, he's used the ball better than Hyypia today.

I am not going to bang on about Nunez

Excellent. Then we wont have to gag you then will we?

We're playing a lot of 2nd choice players Rashid, what did you expect? The team sheet should have been indication enough that we were going into this match lacking REAL quality over the pitch. With that team, its more about getting the 3 points than poncing and posing around the pitch.

Yes Rashid, you ARE going to fucking-well bang on about Nunez.

One bad cross, two great ones - one onto someone's head, another to Luis Garcia who missed the volley. He's one of those players that as soon as he does something wrong, people forget the good he's done. I've got the first half on tape, anyone want to come here I'll talk them through the game.

An air shot, a cross into the middle section of the crowd, put through by Gerrard on goal then turns and passes it back to Finnan. Everyone was up in arms at the start of the season with Finnan at RM - well Finnan is better at RM than this lad. Paul what game were you watching?

Everyone knows Diao is shit so no need to speak of him.... but Nunez? please God... be honest.

The left-sided potency we had against Chelsea has gone completely. Bring Traore on for Warnock.

Also consider Didi for Diao - shocking pass towards the end of the first half, and their midfield are walking around him.

Pongolle to come on at some stage as he may be better at opening up their defence. Garcia has another wild shot.

Nunez can cross a ball, but there's either no-one there, or he delivers it too early. He does look nervous, though; not willing to try and take anyone on.

Luis Garcia needs to change his boots as he seems to be wearing sand wedges again...

Diao's been Diao.

I'd like to see Warnock & Riise link-up more and also Pongo on to get at their very slow defence.

The game's ours for the taking, but at the moment, we just don't want it enough.

When was he put through on goal? Oh, you mean when he was on the edge of the area and thought someone else was better positioned.

I bet if he shot and fell over you'd be bemoaning his lack of technique.

Poor 1st half performance from us. Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia who have started all Premiership games for us this season have been excellent.  Nunez has put in a couple of decent crosses and Stevie Gerrard looks our most likely goalscorer at the moment.

What an utterly dire first half that was.

I know we've made a few changes but still, that was pretty poor. Still, two games in three days, as long as we get the points it doesn't matter how we perform I suppose.

Not a high-tempo game but fucking 'ell its our 4th in just over a week, it was basically expected.

Carra and Sami have once again been outstanding. The left hand side hasn't worked that well for me, neither seems to understand who does what and when. With Djimi there, or Kewell, we all know what their big part will be, not sure at the minute these two have understood that.

In contrast to that the right hand side has played very well. Nunez, a couple of cracking crosses, and Finnan, best right back in the league?, have played well together.

Mellor ain't holding the ball up enough but the quality hasn't been that great to him.

Garcia has worked very hard but its hard to find a path through so many players in such a small area.

Central midfield has worked well. With Salif there Stevie has had the freedom to get forward, and although he hasn't actually produced much quality the drive is there.

Content with that, just need to step up a bit and we'll piss this.

Gaz I appreciate that, no problem with the reserves playing due to injury - its the people that defend poor players that gets my goat. I bet one of your young lads would do no worse than Diao or Nunez have done.

Two brilliant crosses - choose to ignore those. The tackle that started a great move? Forget it. The headers he's won? Who's watching? The great pass inside the full-back? Choose to forget that one. The chasing back he has done? Who needs it?

He's doing well - he's certainly been one of our better players in my eyes. Choose to see what you want. You're watching the game pouncing on every thing he does wrong. I could list more astray passes and mistakes from other players today. That said, Diao's not done much wrong, apart from a couple of shocking passes.

I give up.

Garcia is too deep & Mellor is too static. Mellor needs someone up with him as he is simply not mobile enough. Sinama needs to come on for Nunez or Garcia as we simply have no goal threat.

Think Nunez has done a little better today but Diao has only made two passes forward all game & both right at the end of the half.

Didi & Pongo on at HT for me.....

The problem is people like you who will moan no matter what certain players do.

Diao has played a solid half. Nunez has put some excellent balls in to the box. Still, you're too fucking blinkered in your fuckwit style to see it.

Mind you, that would mean admitting you were wrong now wouldn't it?

Rashid, if you are going to quote me don't alter my quotes.

What I have listed as Nunez doing is more than Riise and Warnock have done in this match. Nunez is playing well in the context of a poor scrappy team performance.
