Living in Australia I never got the opportunity to meet my cousin Cherith, but I did visit her mum and dad a couple of years ago.
I am touched by the number of tributes to her and your collective sentiments. She must have been quite a lady !

I REMEMBER THE DAY YOU WERE BORN
GOD THROUGH THE MOULD A WAY
THE LOVE AND KINDNESS YOU HAVE SHOWN
A LIFE TIME IT WILL STAY

YOUR HEART SO BIG
YOUR SMILE SO BROAD
FOR EVERONE TO SEE
FOR GOD HAS TAKEN YOU BACK HOME
TO SIT BESIDE HIS KNEE

I LOOK UP AT THE SKY AT NIGHT
THE BRIGHTEST STAR I SEE
AND KNOW THAT YOUR IN HEAVEN
AN ANGEL WATCHING OVER ME

Will also add that during the Middlesborough match it was really nice to have the commentary on e-season ticket dedicated to Cherith by Steve Hunter and crew. With 2 minutes of silence and her name mentioned in the closing.

Cherith's mother Mary is my cousin.  We are a large family in Ireland, and I did not know Cherith very well.  However, at her funeral, and listening in particular to the very moving oration made by the Liverpool Chaplain, I was very moved that we had such a beautiful person in our family.  A girl who really made a difference.

We are all very shocked, and I would like to pass on my thoughts to Lee and his lovely family. He obviously loved Cherith a lot, and made her very happy.

Many of you knew Cherith Watson, who sadly passed away recently. A memorial service and celebration of her life were held today, the latter in the Shankly suite, hallowed ground to Cherith. Accompanying a Book Of Condolence was a bound copy of your posts on the tribute thread. Lee, the children and Cherith's family were deeply touched by your tributes and kind words.
The celebration was a beautiful and sad event, and it gave many the chance to share memories. As Cherith would have wanted, LFC featured strongly and the party was later to spread to the Albert -- somewhere up there Cherith would be raising a brandy

Several songs were played, Heart As Big As Liverpool, Days by the Kinks, but I'd like to post one more that has special meaning to me, Patti Smith's Paths That Cross:

Speak to me
Speak to me heart
I feel a needing
to bridge the clouds
Softly go
A way I wish to know
A way I wish to know

Oh you'll ride
Surely dance
In a ring
Backwards and forwards
Those who seek
feel the glow
A glow we will all know
A glow we will all know

On that day
Filled with grace
And the heart's communion
Steps we take
Steps we trace
Into the light of reunion

Paths that cross
will cross again
Paths that cross
will cross again

Speak to me
Speak to me shadow
I spin from the wheel
nothing at all
Save the need
the need to weave
A silk of souls
that whisper whisper
A silk of souls
that whispers to me

Speak to me heart
all things renew
hearts will mend
round the bend
Paths that cross
cross again
Paths that cross
will cross again

Rise up hold the reins
We'll meet again I don't know when
Hold tight bye bye
Paths that cross
will cross again
Paths that cross
Will cross again

Cherith was our Liverbird; she had a lovely smiling face
Everybody said, "Cherith's a case!"
She was funny, happy and good for a chuckle
When under pressure she never would buckle
She loved the Reds with a will and a passion
Always did her own thing; never a follower of fashion
"Heart as big as Liverpool" was her favourite tune
When she sang we laughed and said, "Cherith's a loon!"
She was once thrown out of Goodison because on camera she was seen
Making a gesture to Bluenoses that clearly was obscene!
Always one to laugh; never one to moan
Don't worry Chez, you'll never surf alone.

Work colleague was Mike Crowder.  Think Mike's poem might be available on the original Cherith tribute thread on .tv.  If not, I'm sure somebody could get them for you soon.

Wasn't it a lovely tribute in the Shankly suite?  I was struggling to keep it together anyway but when little Becky fell apart trying to read Lee's poem I totally went myself.  What a good Dad Lee is.  He was straight up as soon as he saw Becky struggling and then knew not to leave out Jordan. Where that man gets his strength from I'll never know.  I admire him so much.

Tears in my eyes still and will be for a while.  People noticing how subdued I am lately.  Must snap out of it.

Thats when Kath and I lost it a bit. Absolutely heart breaking. Hugging Lee afterwards was a tough but much wanted moment too. He's going to find it hard for some time will Lee but he's got a great bunch around him. First time I met his kids and they're a cracking pair.

The strength of everyone I found amazing. Met Cheriths brother and enjoyed a good gab.

It was a very moving and emotional memorial, and one that was a fantastic tribute to a very very very special person.

I think everyone who had managed to hold things together lost it when poor little Becky got up to speak.  She was amazingly brave for getting up in front of all those people.

I am sorry I didn't get to meet you all, but I had to get to Lime Street for the 18.15 train back to London.

I had a good chat with Jonny and David though (tapping me up for Carling Cup Final Tickets!!!  ;) ) It was also nice of Lee to take the time to come over and see me considering there were so many people there!

I know he won't want it mentioned but I just feel I should say a big thank-you to Simon (Bob) who did so much to pull it all together!

I just wanna say a few words about a friend of so many. Like everybody I was stunned to hear the news of her death.

It was very humbling to be at the memorial on Friday. Everybody who spoke of her should be very proud of what they did. I know it was tough but it was beautiful. The love and courage of those closest to her shines right through.

My sincerest condolences go to her family back in Northern Ireland - I understand that in meeting you, people can see where Cherith got her style from.

Cherith naturally had many friends and I hope every one of them can find some comfort in knowing that there are many people who are thinking of them now.

Lee, you are doing brilliantly mate.

I will always be proud to remember her as a mate and remember well her love of life. I am lucky to remember her with a smile… I’ll always remember her with that smile and can still hear that accent “Cheezuz Kaav!”.

Cherith was always out do a good turn. I know very well how she’d help people whenever she could and would play down that she was helping people. That summed her up.

I always try to look at things like this and am doing so with Cherith; It was tragic that she was taken so young and with so much yet still to offer, but it was a privilege to have known her for these few short years.

I never got to give her that bottle of brandy.
Here’s to you girl, you’ll always be with us… YNWA

I'm browsing a year-old thread,
Wondering if I should 'bump' it
But before I  do
I notice
That another RAWKite
Is already browsing here with me
In quiet memoriam.

I bet You loved the Istanbul adventure Cherith.
I pictured you & your loved ones standing near me
With Emlyn and John Peel
& I'm sure many others
Held you in their thoughts that night
And had you standing beside them too.

You'll be with us for many more adventures yet !

Thinking of Lee & your families,
