Apparntly it may have come off a boro player, and if it did, it should have been allowed... :no

Familiar story. Another player gets his first goal of the season against us and it's poor marking yet again.

Not worried, though - still in this game and we've got options on the bench.

Still fancy us for a 2-1 win.

Thommo said it was never offside, as it was off a Boro player.

Another fucking shite decision robs us... That's THREE goals Garcia has been denied (Bolton, today, and the Izzet handball).

Yeh, we still dont have any goalscores, or even out and out strikers on the pitch......

Need something fresh up front.  LG and HK a bit light for this task.  Preferably some holdup options with Mellor...

We've missed a few chances, though. Kewell's just put one over the bar.

Think we'll defo see Stevie and Mellor after about an hour.

1-0 down - Riggott.

'Horrendous marking' by Liverpool according to Aldridge.

I would say "Horrendous" marking by Djimi Traore. He just stood there and let Riggott pop-up with a free header.

Halftime. Quote EST: "They desperately miss the pace and direct running from Milan Baros" "Criminal defending".

Well we know that, but Garcia goals keep beeing disallowed is not helping either. :no

Bring on Stevie G, take off Finnan or Josemi.
Play Garcia at right midfield, and put Gerrard in a free attacking role.

Need Stevie G on 2nd half.

Maybe. But he won't be the Stevie G of old if he's been out for two months and only played half a reserve game. He won't be as sharp or as full of running.

Still, he might be able to offer some kind of spark.

I'm watching it on my snowy RTE2 picture - not a good performance.

Effort and concentration disappointing.

We should have had an equaliser, though the lineman's view probably did look like it came off one of our players.  But his flag was probably in response to thier players raising their arms to appeal offside, so a bad decision against us.

Viduka also blazed wide late on.

A bit of work for Benitez at half-time, for it's not good.

Cometh the second half, cometh THE man.

Goal should have stood. Garcia was offside but Boro player deflected the ball to him. Impossible for the linesman to see though so can't lay blame at anyone's feet. Unlucky in a way but we've been shite. Deffo missing driving force of Baros.

Looking bleak.

Even if he himself isn't as sharp, he'll still no doubt give the rest of the side a confidence boost.

2 Full Backs, 2 Defensive Midfielders in midfield and 2 attacking midfielders up front...and it shows. Although I really doubt if we'd played Mellor or Pongo it'd be any different. We played better after the goal was wrongly disallowed and we've got the best midfielder in the premiership on the bench. Lets fucking win this!

Even if Gerrard does come on, I can't believe we're back to depending on one man again - thought we'd left those days behind - very disappointing  :(  Surely its up to the others to get their fingers out of their arse & do another 'Fulham'

Its a start of a very difficult period (could make or break our season) - not a good start.  Lets hope for considerably better performance.

note - feel like shit today so not full of positive thoughts.  sorry  :wave
