How about "Michael Owen, Michael Owen" to the tune of "Champione, Champione"??
This is simple and effective.
I think that half the problem at Anfield is that the number of non-regulars (like me) and daytrippers there for the 'atmosphere' do not know all the words to the songs. For me, I don't hear them often enough to join in; for the daytrippers, they will never know. (I realise the daytripper accusation is going to be levelled at me, but I 'daytrip' from Edinburgh).
Basically, if the song is simple, people can join in with confidence. I have usually been sat in the Lower Cemetery this season, and barring the Roma game, and to a lesser extent the Bayer game, the atmosphere was poor. There are a few songs that everyone sings, besides the slow Liverpool chant, YNWA, and 'Allez, Allez', there is the JAR song, sung because it is easy to learn, catchy, and people know it.
Anfield will have to 'dumb down' to create a noisy atmosphere!
Seriously though, the lllliiiiivvvveeeerrpppooolll chant is simple but effective; the noise is relentless, drowning out the opposition, and is always audible, even at away games. We need more stuff along those lines - the long tribute songs are great, and part of the Kop heritage, but we also need simple stuff for simple times.
