Ok. If We Draw Man Utd In Quarters or Semis.
« on: March 21, 2002, 10:35:26 am »
What will the Ticketing arrangments be for the 2nd leg do you think?

I'm assuming we'll get around 6,000 tickets for the whole of the Scoreboard End lower tier.  Now will the Ticket Office say that in order to get a ticket, you need to be a registered member of the ETC/ISC or those who have been to previous away Champions League games get priority or with it now being knock-out stages will they say those who went to UEFA Cup away games last season get priority or will they treat it as a league game and put them on sale to Season Ticket holders?

Opinions please.

I cannot see anything else other than certain serial numbers for season ticket holders.

I think it will be to ETC members only (like the final will be).

It wont be certain serial numbers cos the Cup game in 99 was all numbers we got the whole Scoreboard. (it was only 1 tier then)

I would say that you definately have to be an ETC member and priority will go to those on previous trips this season.

This is a European tie and I can't see them changing the policy simply because the game would be in England.

The ticket office receives enough criticism without abandoning the policy and bringing a lot more abuse on themselves.

How do the club know who has been to previous aways though?
Ive been to Barca and Roma but went through Lonsdales and a friend booked it both times - i still have my Roma stub but lost my Barca one in a drunken stupor!!

A bit of a guess, but I think the club have been logging the names on computer of those travelling to the aways. Up until Roma, that wasn't too difficult (not that it should be).

I know that for PTS tickets, they can tell exactly which games you got tickets for, right from the start of the season.

Lonsdale seem to be guaranteed a certain number of tickets via the club. So if you book with them, you get a ticket. For some reason, it doesn't seem to matter how many you have been to, if you go through them.

Having only been to one euro away, what do you reckon my chances are, whoever we play? (I'm guessing none).

Why are they collating PTS names? surely they can't do a priority for the priority tickets?

Sorry Craig, I didn't make that clear.

What I mean is, the PTS uses a computerised system, so that everytime you obtain a ticket through it, it gets logged. A kind of database. So if you have a PTS number, they can call it up on their computer and tell you exactly which games you have had tickets for. This obviously only applies to league games as the PTS does not apply for EC, FA or WC games.

I was suggesting that maybe they have a similar database for those that have received EC tickets for aways this season. If they don't, they're making life difficult for themselves. It's not as if you need to be a computer genius to keep a list of names and addresses.

Your chances of a ticket? Not sure, as I said, depends if they actually are giving priority to those who have been to earlier rounds and what sort of allocation we are given by whoever we face. If we given 6,000 tickets, then you must have a reasonable chance. If we only get 2000, then I'd say chances are remote. We can only hope we're given a decent allocation.  :P

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it the police and/or the FA that requested the ETC be set up so that both they and the club could hold details of travel arrangements for everybody who had a ticket from official allocations?

As for the Celtic game, it was ST's and only two numbers qualified. Fans purchasing tickets had to provide details of travel ie, coach, train and also any overnight accomodation.

Doubt we'd get 6000 for OT. What is the minimum for Europe, something like 5%? Unless there are different rules for games between two teams of the same country, we'd probably get the usual away corner

We got about 3,000 tickets in the corner and serial numbers 9 & 0 could get one but you had to say wether you were going by Car, Coach (company) Train & Wether you were staying over the night.

I remember that cos we qualified, me Dad was 9 & I was 0 & we went on a Pub coach.
