Actually fuck off with that shite, we aren’t privileged enough to be given the opportunity to attend games unlike some. We wake up at fuck all AM to watch this team play then fucking gotta go to work. It’s not fucking easy supporting this team from outside Liverpool, something that the snobby tone of your post seems to suggest.

We have a right to pass comment on things like the privilege of certain people to watch this team week in and week out and as people with this privilege, to want them to be there to lift the team as we would like to think we would do if we could attend matches every week.

Would anyone be surprised if we went over there and won 4-0 🤔😉

I would. Our greatest comebacks are nearly always at home. For a start, I question our ability to keep a clean sheet.

Atalanta were bloody good tonight but fuck sake we were piss poor and let them play.

What a shit show on what is likely to be Jurgen’s last European night at Anfield, very sad.

This is the most worrying thing. Can they put things right and play like we have done earlier in the season or has that knocked the stuffing out of us completely, because there’s no room for dropped points

The way i see it, there is going to be no 'in the middle' now. Either we quickly rediscover our form and stay in the title hunt until the end, OR we just continue to drop points, continue to put in performances like tonight and continue to look we're just out of ideas and gas and basically go out on a whimper.

Well, the protest proved to be a point to FSG. The Kop removed the flags, the atmosphere was flat and Liverpool lost the game. Of course, correlation is not causation but it's food for thought for FSG.

If there's a positive I hope this is it.

I just find it amazing that all of a sudden it's the crowd's fault for not having flags.

Do people really not think the flags on the Kop have no effect on our players and opposition players? Seriously?

Zip.  Atalanta came here to do a job on Liverpool, not to sit back and watch the opponents supporters waving flags.

The lack of flags had zip influence on Klopp deciding to make 6 changes.  And the side that did start were dogshit from the first kick.

It's easy at times to go overboard in the halftime threads, but the criticism in there tonight was fully deserved. That was one of the worst, laziest, casual, arrogant, complacent, disgraceful performances I've ever had the displeasure to witness from a Liverpool side. We were lucky to only lose 0-3.

Atalanta fully deserved the win, but bloody hell, they aren't Real Madrid. Of course, it's been coming for a while. We've been giving our opposition copious amounts of encouragement for some time now. No way we're these looking the gift horse in the mouth.

I genuinely don't blame anyone for venting tonight. We praise the team when they play well. We stick by them when they lose but show guts and fight, but tonight fully deserves to be called out for what it is. Then, we move on...

Well said SoS. It’s a wake up call in the most brutal fashion. Top 4 and a League Cup I would have accepted at the start of the season but seeing and knowing what we are capable of, anything less than one more trophy feels like a failure. There is definitely perspective to be had but maybe not this evening.

We’ll all be behind the team in the 2nd leg and if we get an early goal who knows?

Atalanta were great. Their man to man marking high press exposed Liverpool's big weakness - progressing from the build up phase under a high press (Without Thiago). They ruthlessly exploited Endo's lack of press resistance/simple passing range and completely killed Liverpool's build up. Liverpool threw in some abysmal errors just to top it off.

One to forget.

So, how do we change that next week?

Perhaps a question for Monday...

I think Jurgen vastly underrated the opposition.  Some of the players did too and it conspired to become one of our worst performances at Anfield.  It's strange when a goalkeeper that made a mistake for the first was probably our best player.
Can't blame any individual player as it was the collective that stank.

Why do these threads always have to descend into arguments and petty name calling when we lose?

Protests or not the lads were shite tonight, we're all hurting but there's no need to be going at each other.

If we need some flags in the Kop and the stadium to be at it’s most vociferous to not lose to Atalanta 3-0 at home, then these players probably aren’t as good as we think they are.

Just think it was a horrific performances from back to front and massively complacent. No one has a divine right to just turn up and win, and especially not a team that thrives on energy and speed of play.

Just have to hope this doesn’t derail the remainder of the season. Crystal Palace just became so much harder than it should have been.

2%?? My leccy bill went up 20% last year, Food up 10% etc etc. Next time I hear anyone whining about how we didn't get this player or that player because FSG didn't stump it up...I'll just refer them back to the 2%.
Flags, Scarves, Songs, Shirts,  Cheering them on. They all make a difference. Otherwise why bother?

Moving on. We were shite, they were better...a lot better. Now to Sunday.

You just don’t get it. Liverpool fc is not Sainsbury’s. The club is now worth billions and our revenues are huge. But working class supporters are always squeezed and not recognised for what they give to the club. The protests were 110% justified as principle needs to be defended. It’s not just about 2%.

I am so exasperated that so many don’t understand the point of these protests.

Think it's too early to say that we're physically shot. Awful performance, worst of the season, too many mistakes and bad decisions with and without the ball, but it's still just one game.

The thing is, even if fatigue is creeping in, which I don’t believe is the main cause, it’s all of our own doing. Conceding the first goal 20 time in one season is fucking gash, to have the most goals scored from the 76th minute looks brilliant but it means because we can’t starts games with concentration we continually having to go 100miles an hour till right to the death to get a result. If we had some game management and our forwards would finish chances we’d not be out of the FA cup, have beaten Utd and not needing our players to go to the wall for 90mins every game.

First team to drop points will likely be out of the title race, especially as there are 3 teams.

If there was one game we could afford to lose it was this one. Didn't turn up at all which is worrying at this point in the campaign.

Dust ourselves up, gives all the team a reminder of what is at stake and trust Klopp will get us through.

Still much to play for, with little room for error.

The result might have been a one off but the poor simple passes off target and loosing the ball in dangerous areas due to lack of urgency has been creeping in the last few games, it seems to be the defence +midfeild, more than anything, dozy gits. they need to wake up, concentrate when passing, be aware of the dangers of losing the ball needlessly in dangerous positions.
Lots of players  out, team changing every week isn't helping when it comes to creating and scoring but it's no excuse for lack of concentration and urgency by defence.

First time in a long time I left the game early tonight. Absolutely abysmal from the majority tonight. Arrogance and complacency in equal measure. They’ve got to get off the pity potty as soon as possible as it was glaringly obvious the united game has festered in the players minds.

Weird to blame the protest. Atalanta getting their tactics spot on, Jurgen playing a second string in a European quarter final, almost every player of ours looking like they’re not arsed… those are the reasons we lost, flags or no flags.

Add the fans not being arsed too and you’ve got that spot on.

Terrible night. We go again!!

Is that all it is, 2%? That's well below inflation.

Fuck me, there’s a lot of things about this club that are clearly on their arse.

Is it fuck. Tory shout.

Nah I fucking hate the Tories. I just have an opinion that if you aren't sat in the crowd you don't really have a right to comment on ticket prices and/or the atmosphere. If you disagree then fine, it's an opinion. These shouts only ever happen after a defeat.

We have a right to pass comment on things like the privilege of certain people to watch this team week in and week out

As was the mantra in the dear old END....if you don't go don't blow.......true then, true now
They have life in them, they have humour, they're arrogant, they're cocky and they're proud. And that's what I want my team to be.

If there was one game we could afford to lose it was this one. Didn't turn up at all which is worrying at this point in the campaign.

Dust ourselves up, gives all the team a reminder of what is at stake and trust Klopp will get us through.

Still much to play for, with little room for error.

That’s what we said after the FA Cup

Will be highly amusing if we win the second leg 0-4.

Yes but it would be very surprising.
If Atalanta man mark again and rush the player on the ball then I cannot see us dealing with it.
They smothered us today and forced us to make mistakes.
There was nothing positive tonight and I expect similar tactics for the 2nd game.

The most worrying thing is that other teams can now try the same tactics and they may get a similar result.
Our game is about possession and moving the ball around.
However Atalanta prevented us from playing out from the back and marked all our players hence preventing us passing the ball around.
