Can see this descending into a shitfest real quick. Yeah, we’re at home, but they are dangerous and will have Tierney to support them all the way.

Any win will do.

He looked dangerous in the game away from home against them at the start of the year but had one of those were he missed a couple of good chances and then had a really tight goal called offside. I'd fancy him against any defender really but then we need the finish.

Massive 3 points before break and then City away.

to be honest, I’d just like to see us start well - energetic and lively in first 10-15 mins.

Too many slow starts this season.

Cheers for the OP Duvva.

Get out of this with 3 points will be a huge result. Can see a few goals here. As ever, we need to score first as they play dead, 5 at the back and deep lying midfielders as well, (like against Chelsea), rope a dope the better teams and hit them on the break. I like Brentford and Franck (?), clever manager and good players. Just win Reds. First goal a must.

Would be nice to see us not give the oppo a 1 goal headstart like we seem hellbent on doing in so many games this season. Got to start with a good tempo and get Anfield excited.

Beyond that, any kind of win and clean sheet would be nice. We have to get back to keeping clean sheets again.

pretty much. have any of our games this season being controversy free? expect the same fuck ups today. we could have 80% of possession yet have more yellow and fouls. how the fuck is that possible.

its either the VAR, linesman and ref all fucking us up at some point.

and it not only our games. as a neutral, its hard viewing watching the refs "fucking up" or shall i say "fix" the result to whatever agenda they have.

They’re playing a back five that arguably contains four centre backs (Ajer is a big unit). You know what to expect from them, it’ll be trying to get Mbuemo and Wissa free in the channels. They have Maupay on the bench but not a lot else in terms of attacking options.

Their midfield contains two more holding/defensive types too so we just need to stay alert and expect to have a lot of the ball with a lot of their players in front of us at all times.

Gomez injured?

I am hoping he is ill rather than injured there has been illness in the squad the manager spoke about it at the last game.

The worrying aspect with this squad is besides Elliot there is not much other than young players on the bench.

Not surprised with 4 sort of forwards - makes sense with how Brentford play but Elliot should start over gakpo in that 10/very advanced 8 role .. he’s much better at it

Is Konate injured again?!?!?
