Collated recent allocations for each side we could face. Not sure about Freiburg though, as they've given some big allocations in the past, but can't find any recent examples

Braga (2000, potential for a lot more)
Lens (1810)
Benfica (3250)
Galatasaray (2523)
Feyenoord (2400)
Young Boys (1800)
Milan (3900)
Shakhtar (3500)
Freiburg (not sure- potentially >3000)
Marseille (3350)
Sparta (968)
Sporting (2524)
Rennes (1400)
Roma (5000)
Qarabag (1100)
Toulouse (1200)

I take it we can’t face any fellow group winners in the round we are next in - just one from the teams listed above?

As someone who is hoping for some big allocations to add to my one away credit, I’m stunned to see that Betis managed to somehow get themselves knocked out tonight. I quite fancied that one.

Didn’t they lead the way the whole time in that group?

I know I'm tempting faith lads, does anyone know when the final tickets go on sale? Ill probably be able to buy them as a local allocation. Bought tickets for the last time it was in Dublin but we didn't make the final. Boohoo.

The UEFA ones usually go on sale early in the year of the final, I know there's usually a ballot for the CL final which you can register for.

Playoff draw was made ...

Feyenoord vs Roma

Milan vs Rennes

Lens vs Freiburg

Young Boys vs Sporting

Benfica vs Toulouse

Braga vs Qarabag

Galatasaray vs Sparta Prague

Shakhtar Donetsk vs Marseille

Feyenoord/Roma removes a potentially mad one down the line. Travel wise there isn't many bad ones unless Qarabag go through, but I think Braga are a much stronger side. Three Portuguese sides could be going through to the next phase, and remember we can only play teams named in that draw above. Would expect Braga and Benfica to qualify, Young Boys/Sporting could be a bit tighter.

Nothing on where Shakhtar are going to play yet I don't think. Has been Hamburg so far.

I reckon we get a big allocation game in our next round, draw worked out quite well

No you've said that bound to get Sparta Prague, Qarabag, or Rennes. By the time they take out the hospo/sponsors etc those will be less than or close to 1000

I saw Feyenoord got Roma which could be a bit tasty.

Am I right in thinking we avoid the other group winners in the last 16? Therefore we have to play one of the winners of the CL rejects vs the EL runners up? So therefore no English team until the Quarters?

Would of thought they'd give more in qarabag, not that it'd be difficult to get a ticket for anyway. Shame the Prague teams play in such small stadiums. Just need one big one out of the next three before Dublin if we get there anyway.

Was Milan 3800 going from when we played them in the 21/22 UCL groups? We got Inter the next round and I'm not sure if the allocation is the same or anything, think you're stuck up in the gods anyway. That would be a nice one.

Milan was 3269 and Inter was reduced to 2180 due to Covid restrictions in Italy at the time.

4500 would be nice, you wonder if they'd give an English team less though. Being Europa League too would also be nice if they chucked in some extras if there's less demand.

Apparently Newcastle got 3900 for their game in September

Yeah, remember that, don't know if it was common then but was surprised to be behind the goal. I think the Inter ultras have usually been above the goal on the other side? Maybe that's why because they wouldn't have their ultras and away fans in the same end surely.

The Inter fans were definitely above us lobbing shit at us when Torres scored and when one of theirs got sent off, wasn't the ultras though who were the other end of the ground.

Agree on French police in general, but in Toulouse (as in the other 2 games we've been to this season) The police were actually fine, low key, and not dressed like Robocop going to war, also very helpful.
Not saying that would the be the case in Marseille, probably wouldn't, but it's been the experience we've had so far

TBF a lot of work went on behind the scenes which ensured all 3 away games were low level policing.
which also ensured no hold back in any of the 3 games.
maybe a big help was the earlier kick off's which ensured earlier arrivals and less time before hand on the ale all day.

of all the trips Toulouse was a very pleasant surprise as usually any game in France results in massive policing and total overkill, dressed for world war etc which sets the wrong tone.

weather that continues into the later rounds remains to be seen though

a lot can change with bigger allocations and bigger teams/grounds etc

Personally think the clubs approach to the comp (especially the team played in Brussels) and the fans approach of it being the micky mouse cup of europe causes less issues and less tensions between fans and the police, people arent as up for it, just there for a jolly without caring too much about the result

French security has 2 forces - police and gendarmerie.  The latter prevalent in Paris in 2022
