If the plan was to let Ajax run themselves silly the first half hour - worked a treat! They where very naive.

Liverpool on the other hand - hung on in, and 3 really sublime goals.

3-0! A really good second half. We got the early goal which more or less closed the game. After that it was cruise control. Couldn't have asked for anything better. We're through, no injuries, no yellow cards, Bajcetic and Carvalho got to play etc. A job well done!

After first 35-40 minutes every single red have to be very surprised if someone told us we’d be winning. 3-0. Glad to see Nunez score again and I feel there are good players hidden beneath a lil of confidence and energy in the team but we are lacking some presence in the midfield. Which ultimately as the lack of quality cb previously caused the entire team to look back.

So I was goa dto see glimpses of people trying but failing today, even so.

Only caught the game from around 30 minutes in, so thought we played well and pretty much never got out of 2nd gear. Got our goals and looked comfortable. Personally thought Firmino should have taken the shot on himself at the end of the 1st half instead of squaring, felt he overplayed it.

Anyway job's done and great result.

Great result in the end. I thought the performance was fine after a quite dreadful first 25 minutes or so. We really need to cut out these sloppy openings away in Europe for the knockouts (Villareal, Napoli, Rangers, Ajax). In 3 of those games we've recovered excellently but took a while to get going. Chances are we'll get a Bayern, Real or PSG now in the knockouts which might help us stay more focused tbf.

In truth Ajax were poor and blew themselves out quickly. We might be tempted to go for it next week to try and win the group but given we'd need to win by a lot, it'd make sense to rest players for the league games right after it.

We recovered very well in the group all in all after the opening day massacre but us and Napoli and way ahead of Ajax and Rangers.

Extremely shaky first 40 or so, after that grew in confidence, collectively as a team and individually as well. Ruthless finishing at crucial times of the game. Onwards and upwards!

How nice was it to finally have some comfort at the end where the kids could come on and knock it around.

Stepped it up enough against a very poor Ajax side to get the job done tonight after a brutal first 40 minutes. Might be actually better finishing second in the group as i believe we need a bigger side to raise our game against anyway.

Great result and a pretty decent performance apart from a really strong start by Ajax.
Took the steam out of the stadium and crushed them either side of half time.

Delighted for Nunez to shut people up. Elliott’s goal was fantastic.

Hope Henderson has just a knock that will not keep him out.

As for the referee…….a blatant shoulder charge on Salah and a similar foul on Milner went unpunished. He allowed the Ajax players to do whatever they wanted.

Nice to see Milner get stuck in and give some back.

Despite the poor start, once we scored, Ajax just couldn't compete. It was nice to have the game completely wrapped up within barely five minutes of the second half and then just going through the motions. It would be nice if more halves of football this season could be as easy as the second half was tonight

Comfortable win, far more comfortable than it looked like it was going to be after another slow start. A better team than Ajax might've made us pay.

Nunez looks like one of those players who'll look clumsy, miss easy chances, frustrate you but still get on the scoresheet regularly. His movement is great, he's nowhere near the finished article but the potential is there.

Bobby was immense off the ball for all of the match I saw (had to hear 2 of the goals dropping daughter off), ran the most of anyone on the pitch. Write him off at your peril.

I thought Ajax’s control and passing were very good and they troubled us at times. However their finishing was weak.

For all their nice play, I think they only had one shot on target (I didn’t see the final stats).

hah! Excellent win. I'm guessing Klopp (rightly) prioritised this game, but was still a nerve-wrecking experience.

Nunez is a barbarian, it's great, let him run wild and he gets results.
