The sad part is nothing will change in the second half. We're absolutely hopeless chasing games. We might sneak a draw if they gift us a goal or we get a penalty or something like that. Otherwise we don't look like scoring.

Get Naby on and getting him running at them

I think we need something different as we aren’t doing anything with the current players. It’s been easy again for the other team. Too tippy tappy and no speed to our play.

Stuck in a time loop. Might as well have been watching any 45 minutes from any home game since West Brom. Every time someone steps into the senior centreback role they get injured.  Can see this ref sending Kabak off as well, he looks desperate to.

How we’re walking off 1 booking each is ridiculous.  Doucoure pulls back Henderson, twice, and nothing. A few minutes later he absolutely wipes Allison out with a late tackle. I assumed the ref was playing advantage, but it seems like he didn’t think it was a foul and he didn’t have a word afterward.

The non-booking for Doucoure on Alisson was ridiculous. Doucoure on Henderson has been a booking in most of our recent games.

The weather isn't helping. Everton are compact, well placed to put a foot in when our passing and control isn't precise enough in this wind (and it too often isn't). Midfield look like strangers to each other, taking it in turns to dwell on the ball and look in vain for some movement, but not really playing together.

Holgate stole about 30 yards on the throw in that led to the goal, by the way, after his first effort didn't enter the field of play.

Thiago once again not offering anything in another match along with Gini being invisible.

But that's how our midfield to told to play. We've been complaining about the goals and assists from midfield for a couple of years. Even Jones just plays safe and hardly gets forward.

Honestly, you should be able to avoid a goal like that after a few minutes in a derby. Some amateur shit going on during the first few minutes, I mean the first things that happens in the match is giving away a corner for no good reason. Nothing really positive to take away from the first half, we seems to shoot a bit more often but you can see why we dont shoot from distance. Some massive massive improvement needed, from everyone. Wind is playing a trick on us as well, shit ref but thats normal, hopefully some margins coming our way but hard to believe that as you have been hoping so for months now.

these are a proper bunch of snides. the slightest touch from us and they go down and do a few rolls. perfect game for them now, they'll have 7 of their players in their box at all times.
still reckon we'll win though!!

We're a hard watch right now. Desperately need something to fall for us in the league, but the lads look utterly bereft of confidence. If we were playing anyone else I'd say our chances of getting a result are limited. However, it is the Bitters so they'll probably find a way to fuck it up.

Kabak’s body positioning when we’re defending is going to be a huge problem if he doesn’t learn very quickly. Twice he’s been caught facing the wrong way in a few games and Vardy and Richarlison have just run off the back of him and had big chances because he can’t accelerate. Makes it impossible for him to defend an out to in run. He has to learn or top footballers are going to have their way against him.
I agree mate but they need to stop the balls going in from the midfield.

Just run at Gomes now and keep running at him. Let's see if we can score with a man advantage.

If we play like that against 9 men we still probably won't score.

Haven't seen this mentioned yet but for their first why were they given a second throw? It looked like they threw it out of play and were just given another go. Then he walked up the field and took it without being told to go back.

Stupid little shit really as Thiago just had to not head it straight to them but my God this is beyond frustrating.

The two starting midfielders we've taken out of midfield to play at centre back are both now injured on top of the 3 first team centre halves that we started the season with. It's laughable. Truly laughable. And the performances and general play is fucking dog shit. I've watched this same performance countless times this season NOTHING CHANGES.

Yes a late tackle on Alisson goes uncooked yet Kabak is booked for an accident.

We are really struggling against Everton's 5-3-2. We aren't going to score with our current setup. We need to introduce Origi upfront, and Firmino dropping to the No.10 ...
I don't think playing with 10 men is going to swing things our way.

Can we blame the ref yet?

He is obviously not to blame but I wish he would enforce the rules?
Gomez on Thiago is a yellow. They stand in front of free kicks stopping us playing them quickly, they step over the line he has just sprayed for the wall... so that would be nice. Will be interesting to see if he does anything about time wasting if the game stays the same. I doubt it.

How much more of these mongrels/ dogs of war I can stand I don’t know. They’re very good at head tennis too - which the wind has made this a contest of. Thiago needs to realise that safety first in these conditions pays dividends - he’s a very experienced player, but takes ridiculously naive risks on occasion.

Hendo was the game’s best player until his hammy gave way - that was utterly typical of this game and this season. The football gods have deserted us, that’s a fact.

Yet all is not lost - should the bounce of the ball decide just for once or twice to be kind to us instead of them, we can salvage at least a point

Going down 1-0 in 2 minutes is the issue.

We've done pretty well, not as predictable and found some half spaces --- but they have an extra body or two in the areas we need to penetrate.

Its gonna take something special ---  changing formations and personnel abruptly just changes everything.  We need one small spark or break not massive change.

It may or may not come, but the lads are doing a good job of not getting countered and trying to play attacking football in that wind.

Forward was fine... They had 9 behind the ball in a 15mph wind...

Lack of concentration for their early goal I'm afraid.
I don't think that we're done for just yet.
That Pickernose Pickford is certainly some goalie and it's going to take something special to beat him.
Nothing wrong in the Henderson incident though we'll miss him. Philips is a good lad.
To make matters worse have you seen who scored Southampton's winner today?

What a torture of a season.

People are gonna put the blame on Kabak for their goal, and he wasn’t great at all, but look how little pressure we put on James before he played that pass. Gini just watched him standing a few feet away, 3 minutes into a derby, just dreadful. The less said about how cowardly he’s been on the ball the last month or so the better.

Also before the goal the throw went in and back out again and they gave it back to Everton and then the retaken throw was about 20 yards further forward.

It’s a stupid rule. If you can’t throw the ball onto the pitch then it should be a throw to the other side.

Jesus this is just the most unforgiving season, apparently this is the 17th CB combination this season. At this point can we just shut this season down and pretend it never happened.

We've been okay but it's not been one of better performances, I'd bring on Naby asap and give us some thrust from the midfield. They are weak and we can beat these.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close
