Saw a story the other day that Celtic wanted him, and chuckled. There's only about a dozen clubs in the world who could pay the transfer fee he's worth - and he would represent an upgrade for most of them on whoever they currently have between the sticks.

Was absolutely laughable. I don't know their record transfer fee but I bet we'd be looking for way more than whatever that is.

Apparently it's £9m for Edouard. So they'd only have to quintuple that to kick off negotiations.

Just checked and its jota for €16m. I'd be looking for more than double of that.

Wee reminder that this lad has kept us in the title race, was one of the main reasons we just won a cup final and is content to be part of the team as a backup when others would be long gone. Brilliant lad who must be one of the top performers in the league on current form.

Absolutely. Just thought i say something about him this morning and then couldn't find his thread as was nearly a week since the last post, which was part of a discussion of how much will we get for him. I understand why fans would chat about that but save it for the transfer threads. Right now appreciate how good the lad is playing as we are not missing Becker. That thought alone is a credit to how good he's performing at.

Best two keepers this season in England are Ali and Caoimhin. Just not sure in which order.

Was going to say we're lucky we have him, but it's not luck. It's talent spotting, coaching, man management and building an entire club around the ethos that the next man up is more than capable of deputising if one of our superstars is out for a while.

That’s so weird I was thinking about him replacing Southall (broken leg wasn’t it) and how good he was just the other day. Played in the 86 Cup final didn’t he

Never got a proper assessment of how good he was, given how much better Southall was. How was Mimms, compared with other keepers of the era?
