No goal in 26 games now. Looks off it still which is understandable. But another player made of glass despite how good he can be.

Very close, let me just....

No goal in 26 games now. Looks off it still which is understandable. But another player made of glass despite how good he can be. Think we'll sell him in the summer since we dont have any money.

There.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Even without scoring I thought he was pretty good. Definitely a better presser than Gakpo in the #9 spot and can link play as well if not better. Obviously don't want to risk another injury so need to manage his minutes but I know who I'd start on Sunday between the two of them.

Tbf he had a clear goal taken away from him. I'd like to see him down the middle, he's not a winger.

I'm not worried about his scoring record, he gets in good positions and gets decent efforts off, he just seems to be in this really unlucky run where it never works out; his effort coming off the arm of a defender today being a prime example. More importantly, when he's not scoring he's running his bollocks off, pressing teams and winning the ball high up the pitch.

He should be starting games if he's fit, whether that's left of Nunez, behind him or as the #9.

Yep. That stat about his lack of goals feels similar to the one Bobby had where he hadn't scored at home for a long time. He's still played very well when called upon and his last year has been decimated by a few injuries.

Today he looked bright, until we made that triple change that resulted in us having Jota, Firmino, Salah and Gakpo all up front. It did none of them any favours.

The guy hasn't been back that long from an injury that kept him out for months and he is still doing all he can for the team!

We still have a misfiring midfield which has a knock on effect on the rest of the team.

Honestly. The quickness of some of our fans to jump all over our players is disappointing.

Looking at the way our season is panning out, id be inclined to play him less between now and the end of the season..not because he is shit, but because he still needs time to recover.

I wouldn't even consider playing Diaz now either. Consolidate, and go again next season. He'll only get pelters too if he doesn't start smashing goals in immediately!

Lol if he’s been out most of the season you would think the fitness experts would know that and get him up to fitness before he is allowed onto the pitch.

But as usual the experts on here know better.

He's not been as ineffective since his return as people make him out, but it will take time to get to his best. The tune here would have been different if he didn't strike a hand that prevented him having a goal at Bournemouth.

I get that he’s not long returned from injury, that’s obvious. Though he was poor for months prior to getting injured also.

He was brilliant in the city match where he picked up a serious injury.  We should have subbed him I feel. He wasn't long back from injury. It happened late in injury time.

Himself and Salah were good first half when we were hanging in the game. Both were out of the game second half when our midfield completely disappeared.  Doesn't really matter who plays up front at that point.  Good to see him show moments of his quality though.

We've seen many strikers over the years have a nasty injury and lose that edge, bad feeling it's the same with him.
