We need him especially playing this 4-4-2 did his best Mane impression today, generally has been great progressing the ball this season.

It'll give you some more chances to hammer Nunez, think of the positives!

Hamstring injury?

Knee possibly. It looked a bad one.

I hope for the players sake he's not out for the World Cup but for our sake if it's like Diaz where it's a month or two then it's not as bad for us.

A bad injury and City play on of course. If it was them you'd assume they were cheating but we don't do that so you knew he was injured.

Looked non contact from a very basic movement, so unlikely we see him next week but also unlikely that it's a long term injury because not like knee got twisted or hyper extended or something

Anyway, fingers crossed

Unfortunate as it's probably a muscle fatigue injury after playing for nearly 100 minutes when not long back from injury in such a high intensity game. He didn't really get a pre-season.

Given the way he was down it's more likely a tear than a strain if it a hamstring.

Well I thought VVD was our best player today; but he did do ever so well in defending - and given their possession, he needed to.

Fingers crossed.

Starting to get worried he is going to be moved in to the ‘injury prone’ category now. Looks like a third muscle injury in the last 6 months.

Was he hacked off the ball? Wouldn't be surprised. Joke reffing.
looked like he stretched too far, missed the ball and came up lame.  wasn't touched by an oppo player from what I saw.

He got a kick too - from their big defender who got a yellow earlier.

He was such a menace today, might be his best performance without scoring.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Surprised to hear the commentator mention his hamstring and then come in here and see people say the same - I really thought it was his calf! That would be disastrous. Thought he was very, very good today.

He was holding it when he went down. Given how late it was in the game I'm hopeful it was some combination of a minor injury plus cramp, but I'm basing that on absolutely nothing.

Slow motion replay shows the knee got jarred but on highlights he signalled his calf to the physio. I noticed some strapping to the hamstring when they were carrying him off. Could be fucking anything, guy ran his heart out, played really well and hopefully he's back soon

I think Jota's pressing and nippy tackles in the first half are the main factor to our victory today. He set the tone, best forward or midfield defense this year from any of our players by some distance.

Also, he seems to really enjoy football. Probably the most of anyone in the team right now. Weird thing to say, but he just seems to be absolutely loving being out there and doing whatever it takes

Yes his touch in the box let him down but wow what a performance. Proper Klopp player today

I really like him. He is really well rounded for an attacking player. Presses, good in the air and with both feet, underrated dribbler, snidey, and knows how to draw important fouls. FIFA taught him everything lol.

Hope he’s ok. It’s not top of our priority list but would be gutted for him if he misses out on the World Cup. He’s worked so hard to fight his way into the Portugal team.

He’s been really good for us these last few games, fingers crossed for some ‘ok’ news about the injury.
