Hes an all rounder all right, bad at everything.

Christ ! I remember being quite annoyed Chelsea got him as I had him down for being Bobby's replacement. I think he was excellent in Germany. I also reckoned Arsenal would get a good rebound version of him, post the usual Chelsea shitshow. Shows what I know.

Looks like Osimhen might be looking for a way out in January - his agent is threatening to sue Napoli about some social media stuff, and there were already tensions with the new manager.

Seems like the most obvious Chelsea target you could imagine, as they have a couple of months to conjure up more totally legitimate and above-board sponsorships/investments to fund the signing, and desperately need a player who might have a chance of cracking double figures in a season.

I think the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Real Madrid are all in need of a striker guaranteeing goals too.

Will Newcastle finally splurge big cash on one player?

Summed up well, exactly what I hoped/expected, I dont want to write him off just yet, its always sensible to give players a few months, but as of yet Ive seen nothing.

They spent €66m on Tonali in the summer, €70m on Isak the summer before. Plus they have a raft of players who cost around €40-50m

Appreciate the above, but they're fairly normal prices for reasonable players these days. Osimhen will command a significantly higher fee you would expect ~ £100m+

Don't see it myself. I think he's the best out and out forward in the world after Haaland and I really hope he doesn't come to the PL.

I'd put Kane up there with Haaland, with Kane you also have someone that posts double figures in assists too, Omishen is playing for far and away the best team in Italy, I'll reserve judgement until he's moved to a proper league, as Serie A is fairly shit nowadays

I think he'd do well in the Premier League so hopefully he goes elsewhere.  He ran us ragged in Naples (albeit he didn't do a lot at Anfield in what was a dead rubber for them).

Man U have already gone in with Hojlund and Man City with Haaland.  He would definitely improve Arsenal, Spurs or Chelsea.

Some of the rumours linking him with us are far-fetched as, even if we sold Salah, he's nothing like what we'd be looking for.  Football gossip writing is surely one that will be replaced by AI: club A are selling or have sold player J in position X.  Club A have some money and need a new X.  Search database for high valued players that play in position X.  Generate story that club A are buying players K or L from clubs Y or Z.  Club Y will have some money etc.

I think you give them too much credit for that level of scripting, they'll get the name of a footballer and wheel with the names of clubs that generate clicks, spin the wheel and that player is linked to the club it lands on, them actually needing somebody in a similar position is a happy coincidence as in some windows we have been linked with a starting-level keeper.

Not sure where this goes but Real Madrid getting Tchoumeni (sp?) and Bellingham in back to back seasons looks like some of the best business these past 3 windows, regardless of the cost. What could have been for us, etc.

Sure, you're correct. I'm not complaining at all (and you didn't even add in Mac, I notice! ;) ) but I really like what we saw in both Tchoumeni & Bellingham. It's a pity we didn't land either, regardless of the talent we have now, and another pity that Madrid now have both. INjuries permitting, their midfield looks set (though, again, ours does too, so.... I don't know what my point is! :D)

I hadn't realised that Gabri Veiga (who we were linked with on and off last summer) went and joined the Saudi dictatorship sportwashing circus league.

Now he's being linked to a move to their sportwashing vehicle in the Premier League.

What corruption??

Plus PED will no doubt sort those injury issues out.

He makes sense as a Walker replacement but Walker has been at his best just doing defending and relying on his power and pace. Would have to curb a lot of James’ excellent ability when going forward.

It's funny how City always find £50-85 million when any part of their backline has even a 1% weakness or age issue (or even have an abnormal bowel movement).

They paid £55 million for him 6 months ago. According to some Newcastle based papers, his market value is now £40-45 million. Nothing dodgy going on here  :-X. Just dropped his value by £15 million in 6 months.

If Newcastle are supposed to be watching themselves spending wise due to FFP I say let them drop decent money on Ruben Neves. He was at Wolves for six years and I think his best football was in the first half of that run. They already have a few midfielders who are okay players but can't really do much of anything at a great level.

They wont need to spend any money on him, they can get him on loan with his parent club paying all his wages. Good thing Mbappe didnt go to Saudi as hed be lining up at Newcastle soon too.
