There'll be hand sanitiser in the ground tomorrow - just hope every fucker uses it!

Has been for a few years... worrying that not many people knew that!

I cant see how suspending the league and cancelling games and then postponing the Euros for a year, to then be able to complete the domestic seasons will work. Supposedly the government want to delay the spread until the summer months, when they expect a 3 week peak period around May. Surely theres more risk playing games then then there is now? Also what about the Copa America would that be suspended for a year also, the the potential knock on for AFCON

But not ours.

And don't lose sight of this being a multi billion pound product, so not just 'a game of football'

I agree and posted similar earlier but if you think they are sitting in Whitehall talking about the knock on effect postponing football could have towards things like AFCON then... I understand the majority of us live football centered lives here but there’s bigger things at play now

I'm considering more of the premier league as a whole and the product we sell. Millions up millions are paid to view our league, part of that is a full ground with fans creating atmosphere, driving teams on - its not the product those far afield originally bought.

I really don’t disagree here but like I said there’s a point where stuff becomes bigger than football, we are close to reaching that point. We are at full mercy of the government now

Hence why the move of playing behind closed doors is nothing more than counter productive.

I honestly think the Prem will wait until we have won the league until they do anything

They would be incredibly stupid to play our potential title clincher behind closed doors. It is dangerous if anything

if government bans large events/gatherings it’s up to the league whether to postpone or play behind closed doors

Seems like a big overreaction. Test the arsenal staff if they’re sound after over a week they’re fine. If the footballs getting it though I want postponements like this, not games behind closed doors

They came into contact nearly two weeks ago, you'd hope they would have shown signs by now.  Plus why are they only self isolating for 4 days?

Thats the worry that players having to self isolate for 2 weeks could mean a delay of 4 weeks, due them not being able to train.

International break matches have to be cancelled surely

Perfect chance for every footballer and every infected/high risk fan to have their 2 week quarantine. Or does that make too much sense?

it will in due course but you’d need to bring the country to a standstill for a 2 week quarantine to work

I think tomorrow is a big day, gives you 48hrs to make a call about this weekend, if you leave it be you have to wait until basically next Tuesday, by that you’ll have more real fans coming over too, they should just call it tomorrow to be honest

The danger (from a football point of view) is that those clubs in the bottom 5/6 try to force the season to be cancelled. Will West Ham now say they need to self-isolate because they played Arsenal at the weekend?

This. I just don’t understand why they’re postponing it. Arsenal players just need to be tested, and to be honest if they haven’t got it now, of which they would all ready know, footballers have a top medical team, they’re not going to suddenly just get it. 11 days is a long time ago in terms of a virus spreading.

Everywhere in Asia have thermal temperature readers outside public places like malls etc. Just a simple 2 second test before you go in, they just point a device at you. If your temperature is up you’re sent packing

Arsenal have been in contact with the owner 13 days ago. Meanwhile 5000 madrid fans are travelling into liverpool tonight. Some decisions really baffle me. Don't see the problem with the arsenal game going ahead.

Think people need to go to the proper thread and read up a bit on this. It doesn’t just magically disappear after 2 weeks and you can show NO symptoms but still be carrying it. There’s no 2 weeks here a week there and we’ll be alright. The league will get suspended in the next fortnight, maybe sooner and won’t resume for months maybe even not this year.

Remember, we’re the only set of fans who realistically care about the season ending.

Remember, we’re the only set of fans who realistically care about the season ending.

Are we bollocks. Leicester fans care. Chelsea and Sheffield United fans too. Even Man United fans if City's ban gets upheld.

And that's just the Premier League. You then have Leeds, West Brom, Rotherham, Coventry, Crewe and Swindon fans.
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.
