The Loons at Bluemoon seem to think this PL case is also time barred for 5 years by British law.

 :-\

Genuine question: does British law have any effect on how a private organization can enforce its own rules?

Their CEO is bigging up their commercial appeal ;D
https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/ferran-soriano-manchester-city-commercial-appeal-63823734

They're like a little kid with their constant "look at me I'm so great" attitude. Their deals are a sham and there's nothing commercially appealing about them.

I have a theory on the Rice bid. They knew weren't going to get him as he'd made it clear he wanted to stay in London. Pulling out because 'the price is too high' is a way of proving that they apparently don't have an unlimited pot of money whilst simultaneously ramping up transfer fees around them. Wouldn't be surprised if it's used as 'evidence' in future court cases.

That's not evidence though. They'd have to provide the relevant communications if they wanted to submit it as evidence, which would show Rice confirming he wanted to stay in London. Also, "look, we didn't spend £100m" isn't actually evidence of anything. It's just PR.

I watched the film on youtube about City and it was good to see the regular journalists on there the likes of Nick Harris and Tariq Panjav, but the really fascinating one was the guy who worked for UEFA, he wouldn't be identified. But basically it's quite clear that a number of people who worked for the organisation had bad thoughts about what those at the top were doing. I thought the most cynical thing was that UEFA had they wanted to, could have put an appeal in against City, yet they chose not to. I have always believed this organisation is too far gone now and basically needs replacing. This has done nothing to change my initial viewpoint.  ::)

Watched that video and also watched the FIFA thing recently on Netflix. It really is strange - bit like watching in on an organised crime or mafia story. Can’t help but think that the bad guys and rule breakers are also the policemen and rule makers. Really feels like they literally do and say what they want, decide to brush over a clear fraud, act like it’s all good and then plough on. You can see why Pip was “smoking a big cigar “ when the “verdict” was overturned. Reckon he knew he had nothing to worry about.
Doesn’t inspire any confidence in a solid and fair future. Even the reporters who know this inside out, don’t seem convinced it can get fixed.
Corrupt governance of corrupt organisations breeds more corruption. Who’da thought eh?

Ex Belgian PM who was part of UEFA's investigation, came out after the CAS case and said City were absolute cheats.

The big budget Documentaries about them will be epic viewing when they are found guilty, hopefully one with a Oscar shout to give it real gravitas. :D

"Since its purchase by the sheikh of Abu Dhabi, Manchester City has managed to cheat its way into the top echelon of European football and create a global, immensely profitable football empire, ignoring rules along the way. The club's newfound glory is rooted in lies."

£86m on Gvardiol which means centre half depth of Gvardiol, Dias, Stones, Ake, Akanji, Laporte (if he stays).

115 charges but they’re still allowed to throw further dodgy cash into their already thick squad. Games on its arse

They shouldn’t be allowed to sign players whilst under such serious investigation. Although it’s bizarre why any player would want to go there now and be branded a cheat.

I know it's not tangible evidence but it's all about building the narrative that they want around the club: "Look, we can't sign everyone".

If they are able to sow a seed of doubt in people's minds that they're competing on the same level as everyone else then their objective has been achieved.

If one of the individuals sitting on the panel which will adjudicate against them has in the back of their minds that they walked away from deals because of price, they'll think they can't have a bottomless pot of cash which may influence how they think on the case.

And totally not signing players for £86 million in positions they are well-stocked for. Nothing to see here, motherfunsters at the Premier League.

City are cheats, but they aren't stupid and will not pay over the odds for players if they don't think they are worth it. Same happened with Maguire when they pulled out and let him go to united.

Yes but the people sitting on this panel aren't dopes from BlueLoon or the people who call in to TalkShite. They aren't going to be swayed by third-rate attempts to hoodwink them.
City’s approach:  Doesn’t matter where the panel dopes are from. We will just use same approach as with UEFA case. (And hint: I don’t mean the time barred crap)

Someone is going to have to explain to me how James Trafford is worth £19 million. Suspicious that ex Man City player Kompany is involved in such a purchase?
And if the rain stops, and everything's dry.. she would cry, just so I could drink tears from her eyes.
