try this headline in the Independent  :)

Antony’s controversial circus trick was the act of a true Manchester United winger

Not wrong to be fair. Most United players are bellends.

It's all nonsense of course but I'm intrigued by the 'confused the defender' part. There was no close to him.
a huge understatement - he confused everyone in the ground and watching on tv.

basically, that Antony thing is just hilarious, like proper belly laugh hilarious cos it looks so ridiculous. So in that sense, maybe it is entertaining. It isn’t entertaining because it looks impressive, it doesn’t even look vaguely clever, hard or impressive, it just looks really really funny.

Apparently this fella writes for Forbes, FourFourTwo, Bleacher Report and The Athletic. Some absolutely incredible spin to try and make Antony look great, it has to be said.

Sam Pilger
@sampilger
Antony's spin and pass was brilliant. He was in full control of the ball, confused the defender and played a defence-splitting pass that was slightly over hit. It was exciting, different and fun. He is a young, exuberant natural talent that should be cherished. #MUFC

Only thing funnier are the comments underneath agreeing with him.  ;D

Imagine how different the narrative would be if Nunez had done that clown trick then kicked the ball out for a goal kick.

he's getting rightly slagged for it because all it did was needlessly slow down play and he didn't even beat a man. That kind of stuff is cool if it fools a defender not when you're alone with 10 yards of space

I haven’t really been watching your lot ….

5/10 is poorer than I expected.  Certainly much poorer than I’d expect for a player who cost such a large amount.

Is it a burgeoning performance?  Is he growing into his role?

Or are there fears that he’s just a bit ….meh?

I'd say there's been some good enough signs to not write him off as a flop or future flop. Then again there haven't been many signs of someone worth the huge fee. I do like this manager a lot and think he's best appointment Utd have made since Fergie left so I'll trust him to get the best out of this guy, but I think his top level might not be worth that fee.

There was a period where he motm every game we played against them. Even the Europa game when we won 2-0 could easily gave been a hammering if it wasn't for him. Declined in ability but I wonder if most of it is due to the way keepers are expected to play now compared with 10 years ago.

Pretty sure he was MOTM in games we both lost and won 3-0 at Old Trafford
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

I think above any game he will be remembered for that crazy 3-0 win at OT in Van Gaal's first season. XG wasn't a thing back then but I'd love to see the numbers for it cause as I remember it Liverpool battered our goal but couldn't get past De Gea while United scored with their only 3 attacks of the game.
